Topture’s compact outdoor range starts with the SunRay Burlington at 67″ × 59″ in Hemlock for $3,790 and the SaunaLife CL3G cube at 53″ × 51″ in Thermo-Spruce for $3,990, and runs up to the Dundalk MiniPOD at 84″ × 84″ in White Cedar for $6,936. The smallest genuine footprint is the CL3G at roughly 4.5 × 4.3 feet.
A 2 person outdoor sauna is the smallest dedicated backyard format in Topture’s range, and for a lot of buyers that is exactly the point. You get the backyard setup without giving a 4- or 6-person cabin more site area than you will ever use.
Footprints here run from about 4.2 × 4.2 ft on the SunRay Bristow up to 7 × 7 ft on the Dundalk MiniPOD, with most models between 4 and 6 ft on a side. That fits on a small prepared pad, a suitable deck or a gravel base tucked into a corner of the yard. The interior seats two adults side by side; the trade-off is bench length.
If reclining is non-negotiable, stop trying to make “2 person” work and look at 3 person saunas instead. The smaller footprint only wins if it still matches how you actually use the cabin.
A 2 person outdoor sauna from Topture comes in three main shapes, and each spends the footprint differently.
Cube: Straight walls, flat floor, full-glass front. The SaunaLife CL3G is 53″ wide by 51″ deep, giving you more usable square footage per outside dimension than a curved shell. Compare the full cube sauna lineup.
Barrel: The classic shape. SunRay’s Solace 200SH is a true 2 person barrel in Red Cedar at 72″ × 49″. Curved walls trade some shoulder and floor space for the narrow barrel footprint. Browse outdoor barrel saunas if that format suits the site.
Cabin or pod: Rectangular builds such as the SunRay Bristow and Dundalk Granby are easier to judge from the spec sheet because the walls stay vertical. The Dundalk MiniPOD stretches the compact category into a roomier pod shape without becoming a full family cabin.
The 2 person outdoor lineup pulls from a tight list of brands that actually build at this footprint.
SaunaLife makes the CL3G — the only true 2 person cube Topture carries. Thermo-spruce exterior (Nordic spruce heated past 400°F in an oxygen-free process), thermo-aspen interior that stays cool against bare skin, full-glass front, two-tier seating. Browse the full SaunaLife collection for their cube and barrel range.
SunRay covers the most ground at 2 person — Solace barrel (Red Cedar, traditional), Bristow and Eagle outdoor cabins (Hemlock, traditional), Burlington outdoor infrared, and Logan outdoor infrared. SunRay is the value brand at this size — Hemlock construction keeps prices accessible, and they're one of the few that does a true outdoor infrared in a 2 person footprint.
Dundalk Leisurecraft handcrafts in Ontario from Eastern White Cedar. The Granby cabin (CTC66W) seats 2-3 and the MiniPOD (CTC77MW) 2-4 — the smallest footprints Dundalk offers. Cedar build quality is a step above Hemlock and the workmanship shows. See the full Dundalk lineup.
Finnmark Designs doesn't build a dedicated 2 person outdoor model, but their small kits work in compact outdoor enclosures if you want hybrid (infrared + traditional) at this size.
A 2 person outdoor sauna needs the utility route solved before the base is finished. The practical questions are where the sauna sits, how far it is from the main panel, how the supply reaches the site and what outdoor-rated protection the local installation requires.
For electric traditional setups, Topture lists the heater paired with the specific cabin where that information is available. Browse electric sauna heaters and the mini sauna heater range for compact options, but size the actual heater from the manufacturer-rated room volume rather than a generic “2 person” rule.
If the selected sauna is compatible and you want an off-grid heat source, compare wood-burning sauna heaters. Do not assume every outdoor cabin accepts every stove or electric heater; use the product’s compatibility information.
For the wiring side, read Topture’s sauna electrical requirements guide. If the heat system itself is the decision, compare 2 person traditional saunas and 2 person infrared saunas. Always consult a licensed electrician - requirements vary by local code and jurisdiction.
A 2 person outdoor sauna needs a flat, stable base that drains properly. There are three sensible routes:
Concrete or pavers: the tidy long-term option if the yard is already being hardscaped. Build the base to the actual model footprint and installation requirements rather than guessing from the capacity label.
Compacted gravel: the straightforward DIY option where drainage matters. Level and compact it properly; a sauna is not the place to discover the base settled after the first wet season.
Existing deck: useful when the structure is already in the right place, but confirm it can carry the sauna, equipment and occupants before delivery.
Do not put the cabin straight onto grass or bare soil. Check the model’s required service/assembly clearance and local permit rules before you order. Topture’s outdoor sauna buyer’s guide covers drainage, placement and permits; the barrel vs square sauna comparison helps if the shape decision is changing the base dimensions.
A 2 person outdoor sauna in Topture’s range has less exterior and interior wood to look after than a larger cabin, so the routine is simple rather than precious.
After a session, leave the door open for 15–20 minutes so the interior can dry. Sweep or vacuum the floor and benches monthly. On traditional models, inspect the heater stones periodically and replace cracked or badly degraded stones rather than leaving them in the basket forever.
Exterior maintenance depends on the wood. Thermally modified SaunaLife timber can weather naturally or be treated with a suitable UV-protective exterior product if you want to hold more of the original colour. Red Cedar and White Cedar also silver with exposure. Hemlock outdoor models generally benefit from more attention to the exterior finish in harsh climates.
For solo daily use or two adults sitting together, the compact format is the point. If the household will regularly bring more people in, move up a size instead of over-selling a two-person cabin.
To broaden the search, compare 2 person traditional saunas, 2 person infrared saunas, or see all 2 person saunas.
Topture’s 2 person outdoor sauna range spans compact cube, barrel, cabin and pod builds, so the useful sales conversation starts with the site rather than the logo on the crate.
