Most sauna heaters do one job: get the room hot. Saunum, out of Estonia, started from a different question — why does the heat in a normal sauna feel so uneven? Sit on the lower bench of a conventional setup and the air at the ceiling can be 40 degrees hotter than the air at your feet. The thermometer says one thing; your cold ankles say another.
Saunum's answer is a climate equalizer built into the heater. It actively circulates the air inside the cabin, drawing the trapped warmth down from the ceiling and distributing both heat and steam evenly from floor to ceiling. The point isn't a hotter sauna — it's heat that actually surrounds you. Once you've felt even löyly, the stratified kind is hard to go back to.
This collection is the full Saunum range we carry: the Air-series heaters with the equalizer built in, the standalone AirSolo equalizers, controls, stones, and accessories. If you'd rather buy a turnkey bundle, the heater-plus-everything versions live on the Saunum heater packages page.
The Air heaters are tall, column-style units with the climate equalizer integrated, so the even-heat distribution comes standard rather than as an add-on. All of them top out at 212°F, all include WiFi control, and all carry a built-in aromatherapy dispenser and a Himalayan salt dispenser on the same chassis.
The smaller Air units suit compact-to-mid rooms: the Saunum Air 5 (4.8kW) and the Air 7 (6.4kW), both holding 154 lbs of stones. The Air L line scales up for larger and light-commercial spaces — the Air L 10 (10kW), the Air L 13 (13kW), and the flagship Air L 15 (15.2kW), each carrying 198 lbs of stones. Every Air heater also takes water on the rocks for traditional steam on top of the circulated heat.
Here's the part that sets Saunum apart from every other heater brand: you don't need to buy a Saunum heater to get the equalizer effect. The AirSolo units are standalone climate-and-steam equalizers that mount in an existing sauna and deliver the same even heat distribution alongside whatever heater you already run — Harvia, HUUM, or otherwise.
The AirSolo Wall recesses into the wall at an adjustable height for the cleanest install. The freestanding AirSolo 70 (75" height) and AirSolo 80 (85" height) stand in the corner and suit taller cabins. If your current sauna heats unevenly and you don't want to replace a working heater, this is the upgrade path.
Saunum's programmable AirIQ WiFi control drives the heater and equalizer together from the phone app — temperature, timer, and recurring schedules so the room is ready when you walk out to it. For stones, the brand's rounded olivine stones (2"–4", 33 lbs) are the matched fill; rounded olivine seats cleanly in the Air baskets and resists the thermal cracking that destroys cheap landscape rock. Safety rails are available for both the Air and Air L units to keep bathers clear of the hot column.
The Finnish standards each have their lane. Across the full heater lineup, Harvia is the reliable workhorse with the fastest heat-up and the widest US parts network, and HUUM brings the heaviest stone mass and the highest ceiling temperature at 230°F. Saunum's bet is evenness — making the heat you already have feel better distributed rather than simply hotter or heavier.
So pick by what bothers you most. If you've never minded a normal sauna's heat profile, a conventional brand is fine. If you've always felt that hot-head-cold-feet split, Saunum is built for that exact complaint. You can compare it against the other brands and fuel types on the broader sauna heater collection, and pair any heater with the right fill from our olivine stone selection or a standalone equalizer from the temperature equalizer collection.
The Air and Air L heaters are externally controlled electric units that run on a dedicated 240V circuit, hardwired on their own breaker and sized to the wattage — the 15.2kW Air L 15 sits at the top of the range and calls for a heavier circuit than the 4.8kW Air 5. The AirSolo equalizers and controls also draw power and tie into the install. A licensed electrician has to confirm the breaker, wire gauge, and panel capacity for your specific home; don't size it off a chart. Our electrical hookup walkthrough covers what to ask. These ship curbside freight, fully insured, and if you're unsure which Air unit fits your room, call us and we'll size it with you.
