Dundalk Leisurecraft Harmony Barrel Sauna | CTC22W · 4-Person

The Dundalk Harmony (CTC22W) is a Canadian Timber barrel sauna, handcrafted in Ontario. The barrel shape is the point: less air above your head than a cabin of the same floor area, so it comes up to temperature faster and holds heat with a smaller heater. The staves are drawn together by steel bands, with no frame and no corner posts.

Dundalk rates the Harmony for 4 bathers. The room measures 83" W × 71" D × 79" H — 222 cu ft, with two-tier benches down both sides.

The staves are thermally stable cedar, drawn tight by bands that you tension during assembly and re-check in the first season as the wood settles.

The heater is chosen separately. Dundalk recommends 6 kW for this barrel, which we supply as the HUUM DROP 6 kW package or the Harvia KIP 6 kW; wood-burning stoves are also offered. For the electric packages, HUUM's manual says the DROP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V, and Harvia's manual says the KIP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V single-phase. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.

Dundalk builds the barrel in three lengths on one 86-1/4" diameter: the Harmony, the Serenity (same room, with a covered front porch) and the Tranquility. The MP versions add half-moon panoramic windows.

What the Harmony build involves

The barrel goes together on site following Dundalk's illustrated manual: the machined cedar staves are fitted around the front and back walls and drawn tight with the bands.

One contingency is worth knowing before the truck arrives. If the staves are too loose to settle into a tight “V” at the top, the manual has you add the square spacer from the package to the top stave. In the rarer case that they are too tight, it has you trim 3/4" (19 mm) off each half of the top stave with a circular or table saw.

Tools the manual asks for: cordless driver or drill with a #3 Robertson bit (a short one and one 4" or longer), rubber mallet, level, and a 1-1/2"–2" (38–51 mm) hole saw.

After the first month: Dundalk's care guide has you check the bands once the sauna is installed and tighten any that have loosened with a 3/4" wrench — secure, but not so tight that the cedar staves cannot expand.

Foundation

Dundalk asks for a base that is level with a slight slope to the back for drainage — a concrete pad or a wood deck.

Electrical

Final electrical hookups must be completed by a certified electrician to comply with local codes. Dundalk makes this a condition of warranty validation, not just good practice.

How is the Dundalk Harmony delivered?

The Harmony ships by LTL freight on a crate, delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway. Deliveries are usually made with an 18-wheel truck, so check it can reach your street. The carrier books a delivery appointment and does not unload — offloading is the customer's job, usually with a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or by renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At 84" long the crate is under Dundalk's 92" limit, so the carrier may be able to use a lift gate to help lower it.

Check the shipment before the driver leaves. If it arrives damaged you can still accept it: photograph the damage, write “Crate arrived open/damaged – possible hidden damage” on the Bill of Lading, and contact us straight away so the claim can be raised with the carrier.
