Traditional means the heat comes from a stove and stones — electric or wood-fired — not infrared panels, and water thrown on the rocks makes löyly (the burst of soft steam that defines a Finnish sauna). Unlike infrared cabins, it's the only style we carry at this size.

Heater packages for an 8 person traditional sauna

SaunaLife recommends a 9 kW Harvia Cilindro for the G11, which is also offered with a 10.5 kW HUUM STEEL electric heater or a Harvia M3 wood stove kit. The CL12GCP is offered here with electric packages from 10.5 kW to 13 kW, the Saunum Air L 13 kW marked Recommended, so wood heat rules it out. All five True North saunas here are listed with a HUUM DROP 7.5 kW electric heater as the Recommended package and a Harvia M3 kit for wood heat. Electric heaters sold without a sauna are in electric sauna heaters, and stoves in wood-burning sauna heaters.

Site prep and power for an 8 person traditional sauna

Foundation: An 8 person traditional sauna needs a flat, level base for its full footprint before delivery.

Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.
