The SaunaLife G3 is a 6-person outdoor pod sauna kit with a parabolic arched shell, a full-height shingled roof and a recessed front terrace with a bench on either side. It measures 95.3" W × 86.6" D × 92.1" H on the outside, and the enclosed room inside is 91.3" W × 62.8" D × 84.7" H. The kit includes the arched stave shell, the Thermo-Aspen benches and backrests, the terrace, the bronze tempered glass door, the black shingle roof kit and the Wi-Fi LED lighting system, and ships flat-packed at a listed 1,900 lbs. The sauna heater is chosen separately.

The G3 is the only pod in SaunaLife's Garden-Series, and the geometry is the reason to choose it. The arch is a continuous run of 1.65" thermally modified staves from the ground up and over the top, so there is no separate wall-to-roof junction across the span, and the roof shingles carry water straight down the curve. The recessed terrace at the front is a covered outdoor step: somewhere to sit and cool down out of the rain, or to keep a stack of firewood dry.

How the SaunaLife G3 is built

The G3 is a stave-built shell rather than a panel system. The staves are pulled around two arched end frames and locked with through-fixings, then the roof is shingled over the curve.

• 1.65" thermally modified staves: full-length staves run the whole arch. Thermal modification changes the wood's cell structure with heat rather than chemicals, which reduces moisture absorption and improves natural resistance to decay outdoors.
• Knotless Thermo-Aspen interior: the benches and backrests use 1.1" knotless Thermo-Aspen, selected because a knot-free surface is more comfortable against bare skin at sauna temperatures.
• Black shingled roof: a full-height shingle kit laid over the arch, with spruce fascia boards and cradles supplied treated brown.
• Bronze tempered glass door: 0.31" bronze-tinted tempered glass in a 23.2" W × 66.5" H opening, lockable with keys and fitted with a wood handle.
• Recessed front terrace: a covered porch about 17.5" deep across the front of the pod, with a bench on each side.
• Ventilation: air intake and exhaust vent fittings are supplied; the openings are cut in the back wall during assembly.

The shell is solid stave construction: the 1.65" staves are the wall, and the kit's parts list carries no separate panel or insulation layer.

Does the SaunaLife G3 include a heater?

No. The SaunaLife G3 is a sauna room kit, so the heater, its control unit and the sauna stones are chosen separately and ordered with the sauna.

SaunaLife's owner instructions also cover wood-burning heater and chimney installation, so a wood stove is possible in the G3 — but no wood-burning package is offered on this page, and the chimney, wall sheath and floor protection are not part of the kit. Can you assemble the SaunaLife G3 yourself?

The structure, yes; the electrical work, no. The SaunaLife G3 arrives flat-packed with numbered parts, a full fastener kit and an illustrated step-by-step manual, and it is designed to be built on site by two people. It is not a no-cut kit. SaunaLife's tool list for the G3 begins with a measuring tape, a marker pen and a circular saw, then a level, hammer, drill, utility knife, rubber mallet, screwdriver — and "extra hands". The door opening is marked and cut out of the assembled shell during the build, the side trim pieces are cut to fit, and the shingles are cut at the ends of each course. Every screw goes into a pilot hole drilled first, mostly 5/32" and 3/16".

The electrical side is not a DIY step. SaunaLife's owner instructions say to hire qualified professionals for electrical work, including heater and lighting installation — so the heater, its control unit and the LED lighting are wired by a licensed electrician, not by you.

Before the sauna arrives

1. Build or confirm the foundation. SaunaLife's manual says: "Ensure the sauna sits on a stable, level foundation for proper door and window operation. Ensure the base has enough stability to support the sauna." It does not name a base type; Topture suggests a concrete pad, a compacted paver base or a reinforced deck.
2. Check drainage at the site. SaunaLife's instructions warn against constant water exposure to the wooden components.
3. Choose the heater package and have your electrician review its requirements before delivery day.
4. Arrange the unloading equipment or the extra hands. The G3's crate is one of the two SaunaLife flags as too long for the driver to lower — see delivery below.

Finishing and first use

A 16.9 oz bottle of paraffin oil is supplied for finishing the interior wood. SaunaLife also strongly recommends treating all wooden components with a wood preservative, and re-applying it at least once a year to improve resistance to dirt and moisture — that preservative is not part of the kit. The first heating should be done under supervision, running for two hours with the sauna well ventilated, which lets the wood take up its finish and form a protective layer. SaunaLife's manual also says never to exceed the maximum temperature set by the heater's manufacturer, so follow the first-heating instructions supplied with both the sauna and the heater, and contact Topture if they differ.

SaunaLife's own owner guidance says wood may crack or warp slightly with the temperature and humidity swings a sauna goes through, and that this is normal, so the G3 is maintained rather than left alone. Re-treat the exterior yearly, wipe the benches with a damp cloth rather than running water over them, run the heater for about 30 minutes afterwards with the vent open to dry the room, and check the bench and support fixings each year for screws that heat cycling has loosened. SaunaLife also suggests seating pads for comfort on hot benches. Thermally treated wood has a characteristic smell that fades with use but does not disappear entirely.

How is the SaunaLife G3 delivered, and who unloads it?

The SaunaLife G3 ships by LTL freight, and unloading it is the buyer's responsibility — this is the one delivery fact to plan for before you order. SaunaLife lists the G3 and the G4 as exceptions to its standard curbside service: these two models are too long for the driver to lower to the ground. On a G3 delivery the customer is responsible for hand off-loading the crate piece by piece, or for off-loading it with a forklift. A flat-bed truck delivery can be arranged instead for an additional fee; on that option the driver provides delivery only, and you must supply a forklift or crane.

The crate measures 94" L × 43" W × 45" H at a listed 1,900 lbs, which is why the standard tailgate drop does not apply. A delivery appointment is required, and the carrier will reach out to book it once the shipment reaches their local terminal.

We often contact customers before a G3 ships to talk through the site and the unloading arrangement, because this is the model where a delivery goes wrong most easily. The sauna arrives protected on a wooden pallet, sometimes encased in wood, and someone needs to be there to inspect and sign for it.

Inspect and photograph the shipment before you start assembly. SaunaLife's warranty does not cover damage — transport damage included — that would have been detectable by visual inspection before installation, so documenting the crate at delivery is what keeps both the freight claim and the warranty open.
