What Sets ThermaSol Sauna Cabins Apart

ThermaSol cabins arrive built. That is the practical difference between this range and most of what Topture sells: a barrel or cube kit turns up crated flat and you assemble it, while a ThermaSol cabin is constructed in the factory and delivered as a finished room. The walls are multi-layer, with wood-fibre insulation between interior and exterior cladding, which is why they hold heat in cold climates the way a single-skin kit cannot.

Topture lists every price in this collection openly, from $21,276 for the indoor Lumaria to $75,028 for the Ombra. Most of the range is Tyrol wood walls with thermo-aspen benches and backrests, heated by Harvia electric units — with exceptions worth knowing: the Nordic Dawn is thermo-pine, the Solaris is Tile Oak with alder, and the Nordic Misty is thermo-spruce with thermo-aspen and offers wood-burning as well as electric. The ThermaSol Range and What Each Cabin Costs

Topture carries eleven ThermaSol cabins — three indoor, eight outdoor. Prices below are the current starting price for each model.

The indoor cabins sit between $21,276 and $23,648 and are close in specification — choose on layout rather than price. The outdoor spread is much wider because it covers everything from a compact three-person cabin to the Ombra's glass-walled retreat with its own dressing lounge.

The Solaris: A Sauna That Runs Without a Power Connection

The ThermaSol Solaris was named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2025, and it is the only cabin in Topture's ThermaSol range that needs no mains connection at all. (The wood-burning Nordic Misty needs no circuit for heat either, but still wants a supply for its lighting.) Solar panels cover the roof and one external wall, one day of sunshine gives a full charge, and the charge level is monitored through a mobile app.

That matters in cases where the electrical work would otherwise decide the project. Running a dedicated circuit to the far end of a property, across a driveway, or out to a lake lot can cost more than the trenching budget allows — and in some cases is simply impractical. The Solaris removes that line from the quote entirely. It is clad in Tile Oak inside and out for UV resistance, with alder framing around the glass, and it seats two to five depending on size. The Small starts at $66,645 and the Medium at $70,714, making it the second most expensive cabin Topture carries, so the honest comparison is against the total installed cost of a grid-connected cabin plus its electrical run, not against the cabin price alone.

Materials: Tyrol Wood, Thermo-Aspen and Glass

ThermaSol builds these cabins from thermally modified timber, the same principle behind the thermowood used across the premium end of the sauna market and defined by the International ThermoWood Association. Heat treatment drives moisture out of the cell structure, leaving wood that is dimensionally stable through freeze-thaw cycles and far more resistant to rot than untreated softwood.

Across the range, Tyrol wood and thermo-aspen do most of the work — thermo-aspen for benches and backrests, chosen for stability and comfort at sauna temperature, and Tyrol wood for cladding and wall detail. The Nordic Misty uses a Nordic dark thermo-spruce exterior with a water-based oil applied at the factory to darken the surface and hold UV resistance. Glass is the other signature: the Lumaria runs a floor-to-ceiling panoramic facade along two walls, and the Ombra uses semi-panoramic tempered bronze glass that keeps the interior private while cutting heat transfer. Heaters, Controllers and Door Handing

Every ThermaSol cabin Topture carries arrives with its heater and controller already specified and supplied, so the kW sizing question that dominates a kit build does not arise. Harvia supplies the heating across the range. Note that supplied is not the same as fitted: on the Nordic Misty, ThermaSol's manual states the heater, flue and door handle are installed on site by the customer or their installer, not at the factory. Confirm what is factory-fitted on the specific model before you book trades.

The outdoor cabins run Harvia Virta heaters matched to cabin volume: the Ombra takes a 10.5kW Virta, the Vue a 9kW, and the Spectra, Fortis and Vera an 8kW, each with a CX45 controller. Nordic Dawn uses a 9.0kW Harvia Spirit with WiFi. Indoor Lumaria, Aalto and Astra cabins all run a 9kW Virta with CX45. The solar cabins are different by necessity — a KIP 3kW heater with a CX170 controller, sized to what the solar panels and battery kit can supply.

Door handing matters more than buyers expect. The Vue, Vera, Lumaria, Aalto, Astra and Nordic Misty are each ordered as door-left or door-right, and the Lumaria, Solaris and Nordic Misty each come in two cabin sizes. Handing decides which way the cabin opens onto your deck or room, so Topture confirms it at order rather than after the build starts.

Lead Times

Every ThermaSol cabin is made to order, and the production window differs sharply between the indoor and outdoor ranges. Topture confirms the current figure before anything is scheduled.

Outdoor cabins run about 12 weeks — that covers Nordic Misty, Nordic Dawn, Spectra, Fortis, Vera, Vue, Ombra and the solar models. Indoor cabins are faster at roughly 4 to 8 weeks for the Lumaria, Aalto and Astra. Plan the groundwork so a foundation is cured and level before the delivery window opens, and book any lifting equipment against a confirmed date rather than the estimate.

Delivery, Access and Site Preparation

A pre-assembled cabin arrives as one finished unit, and that changes the site conversation in a way flat-pack kits do not. Topture raises these three items before an order rather than after, because they are the ones that cause problems late.

Access. The cabin has to physically reach its position. For outdoor cabins that means gate widths, side-return width, overhead branches, driveway grade and turning space for a delivery vehicle, and placement normally needs machinery. For the indoor cabins it means doorways, hallways and stair turns. Measure the tightest point on the route, not the widest.

Foundation. These are heavy structures — a Medium Nordic Misty ships at 2,557 lbs, and 3,086 lbs in its wood-burning configuration. They need a level, load-bearing base. ThermaSol's Nordic Misty instructions specify concrete slabs with bitumen felt over a compacted hard surface, with a grid on top as the recommended build-up, or screw piles selected for your soil and frost depth. Never place a cabin directly on the ground, and confirm the requirement for your specific model before pouring anything.

Offloading (outdoor cabins). Once the unit is delivered and offloading begins, responsibility passes from the carrier to you or your installer. A forklift or crane is the usual method. ThermaSol's Nordic Misty documentation specifies forks about 6 ft 7 in (2 m) long and a marked face the cabin must be lifted from; confirm the lifting requirement for your specific model with Topture before delivery day rather than assuming it matches. The indoor Lumaria, Aalto and Astra are placed inside a finished room, so the constraint there is the delivery route and door widths, not a foundation or a crane.

Choosing Between Indoor and Outdoor ThermaSol Cabins

Topture's indoor ThermaSol models — Lumaria, Aalto and Astra — are freestanding rooms designed to be placed inside a finished space rather than framed into it, which is why ceiling height and the delivery route through the house are the two constraints that decide them. The Lumaria's corner layout exists specifically for rooms where a rectangular cabin would waste the space. The outdoor cabins are engineered for year-round exposure, with weatherproofing and rainwater management built into the structure. Within that group, the practical fork is between the compact models and the two flagships: Vera at $49,101 seats three, while the Ombra at $75,028 includes a private dressing lounge before you reach the hot room. Between them sit Nordic Misty, Nordic Dawn, Spectra, Fortis and Vue.
