Each package bundles the three things you actually need to fire up a HUUM electric sauna: the heater itself, a UKU controller (HUUM's brain unit), and the right quantity of stones to fill the basket. You pick the heater model and size, then choose your controller flavor (UKU Local, UKU WiFi, UKU WiFi Glass, or UKU WiFi Mirror), and the matching stone load ships in the same order. For DROP packages we also include the factory Heating Element Separator and Heat Shield Hood that protect the elements and the surrounding wall. Larger HIVE configurations include the UKU Extension Box (contactor) needed for heaters above 12kW.
The reason we sell them as bundles is simple. HUUM intentionally decouples the heater, the controller, and the stones so you can mix finishes, but every electric HUUM requires a UKU to run. Buying the heater alone leaves you with a sculpture. The package configures the trio HUUM's own technical team would spec for a residential install, and saves a few hundred dollars versus piecing it together from the standalone HUUM electric heater models and the accessory catalog.
Five electric platforms run through the package lineup. They share the same oversized stone basket philosophy, but the silhouette, mount, and stone load are different on each.
DROP packages (4.5kW, 6kW, 7.5kW, 9kW) are the wall-mounted teardrop heaters. 121 lbs of stone capacity, the most compact footprint in the lineup, and the easiest install for indoor saunas in the 106–530 cu ft range. The 6kW and 7.5kW are the volume sellers and cover most 2–4 person rooms. The 9kW is the call for larger outdoor cabins or saunas with high ceilings. DROP packages include the factory heat shield hood and element separator, which together extend element life significantly versus the bare heater.
CLIFF packages (6kW, 9kW, 10.5kW) are the angular freestanding pillar. 165–202 lbs of stones, nearly double the DROP, gives you noticeably softer löyly and a faster recovery after throwing water. CLIFF is the move for 5–6 person cabins where you want serious thermal mass without the size of a HIVE. The CLIFF Mini package (3.5kW) is the smallest HUUM available, 133 lbs of stones in a compact pillar for sub-200 cu ft closets and one-person home builds.
HIVE packages (12kW, 15kW, 18kW) are the cylindrical cage flagship. Up to 595 lbs of stones, the highest in the residential category, designed for 212–1,060 cu ft rooms like large outdoor cabins, multi-tier commercial spa builds, and oversized custom installs. 12kW+ units require 208V three-phase or 240V high-amperage circuits, so confirm your panel before ordering.
HIVE Mini packages (6kW, 9kW, 10.5kW) shrink the cylindrical look to a 330-lb stone load and fit mid-size rooms up to 706 cu ft. This is the pick for buyers who want the HIVE aesthetic in a four-person sauna.
STEEL packages (6kW, 9kW, 10.5kW, plus a 3.5kW STEEL Mini) are the architectural mirror-finish option, a polished stainless cage that disappears into modern bathroom and bench builds. Same 330-lb stone load as the HIVE Mini in the standard sizes, 133 lbs in the Mini.
Every electric HUUM ships with a UKU controller in the bundle. You're choosing the interface, not whether you get one. UKU Local is the wired panel without WiFi, handling temperature, timer, and scheduling at the wall in black, white, or wood finish. UKU WiFi adds the HUUM app so you can preheat from the car, schedule recurring sessions, and adjust temperature without getting up. The UKU WiFi Glass and UKU WiFi Mirror upgrades carry the same WiFi functionality with a minimalist glass or mirrored front panel that blends into a finished bathroom wall instead of announcing itself as a controller.
HUUM's app is the most polished in the category. You can name multiple saunas, see live heater status, set per-day schedules, and lock the panel from kids. If app control matters, see the full WiFi-enabled sauna heater comparison for cross-brand context.
HUUM's coverage ranges are broader than most brands because the heavy stone load extends effective thermal capacity. The standard rule still applies (about 1kW per 45–50 cubic feet), but the stone mass lets you size down one step from a lower-mass heater and still hit traditional 190–210°F temperatures. Calculate room volume (length × width × ceiling height) and match against the kW range on each package page. If you're between sizes, go up: an under-sized heater struggles in cold weather and lengthens preheat time.
For outdoor cabins in northern climates, add 10–15% to the sizing calculation to account for thicker walls and longer preheat. For a one-person closet build, the CLIFF Mini 3.5kW package is the only sub-200 cu ft option that delivers real steam. Most other brands' small heaters skimp on stone capacity.
All HUUM residential heaters in this collection run on 240V single-phase. A 4.5kW DROP pulls roughly 19 amps and needs a 25A breaker. A 6kW package needs 25A on a 30A circuit, 7.5kW needs 31A on 40A, and 9kW needs 38A on 40A. The 10.5kW CLIFF and STEEL packages need a dedicated 50A breaker. The larger HIVE units (12kW, 15kW, 18kW) typically require 208V three-phase commercial wiring, so confirm what your panel can supply before ordering. Our electrical requirements walkthrough covers the full amperage table and wire-size guidance.
Every HUUM install must be wired by a licensed electrician. Plan on a few hours of electrical labor on top of the package cost. The heater itself mounts in under an hour for DROP wall installs; floor-standing CLIFF, HIVE, and STEEL units take a bit longer because you're positioning the unit and routing the sensor cable to the controller location.
If you want a standard configuration like a DROP 6kW with UKU Local, or a CLIFF 9kW with UKU WiFi, the package is the clear move. Single shipment, configured to work together, savings of a few hundred dollars versus piecing it from individual SKUs. If you want a non-standard combo (DROP heater with the Mirror controller, or a custom stone size upgrade), you're better off building it from the individual heater, the controller you want, and the stone box quantity that matches your basket capacity. We carry every HUUM accessory (safety rails, embedding flanges, the DROP drip tray) under heater accessories if you want to round out the build.
