The Dundalk Granby (CTC66W) is the compact cabin in the Canadian Timber Collection, handcrafted in Ontario from Premium Grade A Eastern White Cedar. Unlike a barrel or pod, the cabin gives you a flat floor, vertical walls and a peaked roof that sheds rain and snow the way a building should. It arrives as a ready-to-assemble kit and goes together with dovetail corner joinery — no corner posts, no frame.

Dundalk rates the Granby for 3 bathers. Inside, the room is 60" wide by 60" deep with an 84-1/4" ceiling — 141 cu ft — the compact end of the cabin range, and still tall enough to stand in throughout.

The roof is 28-gauge textured black steel, made in Canada: metal shingles over tongue-and-groove cedar roof boards, finished with black metal trim. The cedar itself is naturally weather-resistant without chemical treatment, and Dundalk's single-stave bevels keep the wall line consistent as the wood weathers.

The heater is chosen separately: Dundalk recommends 6 kW, which we supply as the HUUM DROP 6 kW package or the Harvia KIP 6 kW. The Granby is an electric-only cabin — Dundalk does not offer a wood-burning option for it, so there is no chimney penetration to cut. HUUM's manual says the DROP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V, and Harvia's manual says the KIP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V single-phase. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.

The Granby is the smallest of Dundalk's three cabins. If you need more room, the same construction is built as the Palmer and the Georgian, and the Georgian is also offered with a porch or a changeroom.

What the Granby build involves

The Granby is built on site by two people — Dundalk's recommendation — following the illustrated manual, with the cedar machined at the factory. It is electric only, so there is no chimney opening to cut.

Tools the manual asks for: cordless drill with Phillips and Robertson bits, rubber mallet, carpenter's level, a 2" (51 mm) hole saw, a grinder to cut the roof shingles, and a step ladder.

Foundation

Dundalk asks for a base that is level with a slight slope to the back for drainage. A concrete pad, a wood deck, patio stone or compacted crushed stone all work — get this right first, because a level base is what keeps the door and windows operating correctly for the life of the cabin.

Electrical

All electrical connections must be made by a licensed electrician — the manual states that failing to do so voids the warranty.

How is the Dundalk Granby delivered?

The Granby ships by LTL freight on a crate, delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway. Deliveries are usually made with an 18-wheel truck, so check it can reach your street. The carrier books a delivery appointment and does not unload — offloading is the customer's job, usually with a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or by renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At 72" long the crate is under Dundalk's 92" limit, so the carrier may be able to use a lift gate to help lower it.

Check the shipment before the driver leaves. If it arrives damaged you can still accept it: photograph the damage, write “Crate arrived open/damaged – possible hidden damage” on the Bill of Lading, and contact us straight away so the claim can be raised with the carrier.
