SaunaLife CL7G Overview

The SaunaLife CL7G is a six-person outdoor sauna kit with a full-width bronze-tinted glass front and an interior measuring 87.5" W × 70.8" D × 85.5" H — just over seven feet of headroom, matched in the Cube Series only by the sauna room of the CL12GCP. The exterior measures 91" W × 86.6" D × 93" H. It arrives flat-packed for assembly on site, and the heater, its controls and the sauna stones are selected separately. Topture offers three electric heater packages for it, each with the heater, its control and stones: the Saunum Air L 9.8 kW, the HUUM HIVE Mini 10.5 kW and the Harvia Cilindro 10.5 kW.

The Bronze Glass Front Wall

The CL7G's front is a full-height glass wall: a hinged glass door 27.2" wide by 74.4" high with a fixed glass panel on either side of it, all in 0.31-inch tempered bronze-tinted glass. Because the glazing runs the full width of the front rather than sitting in a single door opening, daylight reaches both benches and the view out is unbroken from either side of the room.

Thermally Modified Shell and Roof

The CL7G's walls are Thermo-Spruce, 1.65 inches thick on the sides and 1.1 inches on the front and back panels. The wood is thermally modified — heated to high temperature in a low-oxygen kiln, which alters the wood's structure instead of adding a chemical preservative. SaunaLife describes the result as more dimensionally stable and naturally resistant to decay and insects than untreated softwood. Over it sits a complete hexagonal asphalt shingle kit on underlay felt, with drip rails and a fascia board included. Thermally modified wood is not maintenance-free: SaunaLife's own manual asks owners to treat every wooden component with a preservative at assembly and at least once a year afterwards.

Interior Layout and Seating

Inside the CL7G, two two-tier benches run down both side walls facing each other across the floor, with the heater position at the centre of the back wall behind a wooden heater guard. Benches and backrests are knotless Thermo-Aspen, which SaunaLife selects for a cooler-to-the-touch seating surface. Interior volume is about 306 cubic feet — roughly two-thirds more room than the four-person CL5G's 184 cubic feet. The SaunaLife Cube Series size comparison sets all five models side by side. Upper and lower vents in the back wall supply the room's ventilation.

Wi-Fi-Controlled LED Lighting

A white LED light bar is included with the CL7G. It runs at 24 V DC, draws 11.32 W and uses IP67-rated connections, and it is operated either from a phone app over Wi-Fi or from the supplied wireless handheld remote. The 90 W power supply takes 120 V AC and outputs 24 V DC, a 30-foot IP67 light cable is in the box, and the system can be expanded to control up to four white LED light sources.

What Assembling the SaunaLife CL7G Involves

The CL7G's sauna structure is assembled on site from a flat-packed kit, and its electrical work is not a do-it-yourself job. SaunaLife's CL7G installation manual states it plainly: "Hire qualified professionals for electrical work, including heater and lighting installation." The circuit sizing and the heater wiring are covered in the answer below to "What electrical work does the SaunaLife CL7G need?"; what follows here is what the physical build asks of you.

Tools and hands the manual calls for

The CL7G manual lists measuring tape, marker pen, circular saw, water level, hammer, screwdriver, drill, crescent wrench, utility knife, rubber mallet, ratchet strap and a ladder, and it shows the build being done by two people. Note that a circular saw is on the manufacturer's own list.

Foundation

The CL7G needs a stable, level foundation with enough strength to carry it; the manual ties correct door and window operation directly to the base being level. The footprint is 91" × 86.6", and SaunaLife's dimensional drawing gives the sauna's weight as 1,875 lbs. The manual does not specify a foundation type, so confirm the slab, pad or deck you intend to use with your installer before the delivery date is set.

First heating

SaunaLife requires the CL7G's first heating to be carried out under supervision, for two hours, with the sauna well ventilated during and after. That first session lets the wood take up its finishing materials. SaunaLife's manual also says never to exceed the maximum temperature set by the heater's manufacturer, so follow the first-heating instructions supplied with both the sauna and the heater, and contact Topture if they differ.

Ongoing maintenance

Treat all wooden components with a wood preservative at assembly and reapply at least once a year. Wipe the benches with a damp cloth rather than washing them with running water, and keep paints, varnishes, harsh disinfectants and pressure washers away from the timber. SaunaLife also notes that thermally treated wood can crack or warp slightly under the temperature and humidity swings a sauna sees, and that this is normal rather than a defect.

The Model CL7G's side walls are 1.65-inch Thermo-Spruce, with 1.1-inch Thermo-Spruce front and back wall panels. Both are thermally modified: heated to high temperature in a low-oxygen kiln, a process that permanently alters the wood's cellular structure and gives it natural resistance to moisture, decay and pests without chemical treatment.

SaunaLife builds the Cube-Series from full-length thermally enhanced staves for greater dimensional stability and strength than untreated softwood, and backs the sauna with a five-year limited residential warranty against defects in workmanship. Thermally modified timber is not maintenance-free, though — it still needs the periodic wood treatment SaunaLife sets out in the CL7G manual.

Shingled Roof & Back-Wall Ventilation


The CL7G's kit includes a complete hexagonal asphalt shingle roof laid over underlay felt, with drip rails and a fascia board — the same water-management approach used on a residential roof, so rain runs off and clear of the walls instead of pooling.

Ventilation comes from vents set into the back wall, one high and one low, which is the arrangement SaunaLife specifies for air movement through the room. Lighting is a white LED light bar with app-based Wi-Fi control and a wireless handheld remote, rated IP67 at its connections and running on 24 V DC.

This is a beautiful sauna It looks like a work of art. The size is great I can lay down on the bench and just relax. I have the Harvia heater which is fabulous and makes great steam with the stones. I can throw ladle after ladle of water and the steam just keeps coming. Thick, soft, exactly like the saunas I used in Finland. The WiFi control is the other game changer. Topture offers three electric heater packages for this sauna, each supplied with the heater, its control and stones: the Saunum Air L 9.8 kW with AirIQ Wi-Fi control, the HUUM HIVE Mini 10.5 kW with UKU Wi-Fi control, and the Harvia Cilindro 10.5 kW with Xenio Wi-Fi control. All three are 240-volt single-phase heaters, and each needs its own circuit, sized for that heater and connected by a licensed electrician.
What size heater does the SaunaLife CL7G need?

How do you maintain the SaunaLife CL7G?
The SaunaLife CL7G needs a supervised two-hour first heating before normal use, with the room well ventilated, and new heater stones washed before they are placed. Follow the first-heating instructions supplied with both the sauna and the heater, and never run the heater above its maker's maximum temperature, which SaunaLife's manual also rules out; contact Topture if the two sets of instructions differ. After the first heating, apply a wood preservative to all wooden parts at least once a year, more often in harsh exposure; SaunaLife also asks that unfinished skirting boards be treated at assembly. After each session, wipe the benches with a clean, damp cloth, never with running water, using a cleaner made for sauna wood, then run the heater for at least 30 minutes with the vent open and the door closed to dry the room. A few times a year, inspect the door hinges and lock and the bench mountings, tightening and lubricating as needed; hinge adjustment uses 3 mm and 5 mm hex keys. Check the heater stones regularly, since they crack over time.
Can the SaunaLife CL7G stay outside all year?
Yes. The SaunaLife CL7G is built as an outdoor sauna: its side walls are thermally modified Thermo-Spruce and its roof is a complete asphalt shingle kit on underlay felt with drip rails, which is the same water-management approach used on a house roof. Thermal modification makes the timber more dimensionally stable and naturally resistant to decay and insects than untreated softwood, but it does not make it maintenance-free. SaunaLife asks owners to treat every wooden component with a wood preservative at assembly and to reapply it at least once a year, and notes that thermally treated wood can still crack or warp slightly with the temperature and humidity swings a sauna sees.
What are common problems with the SaunaLife CL7G, and how do you avoid them?
SaunaLife's CL7G manual names the ones that are normal: the wood may crack or warp slightly as temperature and humidity change, boards exposed to steam can darken, and thermally modified wood keeps a smell that fades but never fully disappears. The avoidable ones come from care and setup: running the heater above its maker's maximum temperature, pressure-washing the wood, skipping the yearly wood treatment, and a foundation that isn't level, which SaunaLife says the door and windows need to work properly. The included heater guard may not meet every heater's safety distances, and SaunaLife says not to use it if the heater does not fit. If the glass door drifts out of line, its hinges adjust with 3 mm and 5 mm hex keys.
What is the difference between the SaunaLife CL7G and the CL5G?
The biggest difference is headroom. The SaunaLife CL7G's interior is 85.5 inches high, just over seven feet, against 74.8 inches in the CL5G, and it seats six on two-tier benches down both side walls instead of four on a two-tier bench along the back wall. The CL7G's interior measures 87.5 by 70.8 inches, about 306 cubic feet, against the CL5G's 77.2 by 55.1 inches and about 184. Outside, the CL7G is 91 by 86.6 by 93 inches and ships at 2,040 pounds; the CL5G is 80.7 by 63 by 82.7 and ships at 1,680. Both share the bronze-glass front, the Thermo-Spruce shell and the Wi-Fi LED lighting. The CL7G takes 9.8 to 10.5 kW heater packages, the CL5G 8 to 9 kW.
What is the difference between the SaunaLife CL7G and the CL12GCP?
The biggest difference is the dressing room. The SaunaLife CL7G is a single sauna room, 86.6 inches deep with a full-height glass front, rated for six, and ships at 2,040 pounds by LTL truck with a curbside drop. The CL12GCP is 151.6 inches deep and divides that into a sauna room with a rear picture window, a separate dressing room and a covered porch; it seats eight and ships at 3,450 pounds by flat-bed truck, with the buyer providing a forklift or crane to unload it. Both are 91 inches wide and 93 inches high, with the same Thermo-Spruce construction and bronze-tinted tempered glass. Choose the CL7G for the glass-front room and the simpler delivery; choose the CL12GCP for somewhere to change and cool down out of the weather.

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

Topture is an online retailer serving customers in the contiguous United States. The company is Topture LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, and its registered business address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. Do you have a showroom?

We don’t have a showroom — we sell online. Our team is available by phone, email and chat to help you compare models, sizes and heaters, and we can send dimensions, installation manuals and electrical requirements before you buy.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states, with curbside freight delivery for large items. Free shipping and standard rates apply there only.
