What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function, remember your preferences, and understand how visitors use the site. Cookies may be set by us (first-party) or by third-party services we use (third-party).
This policy also covers technologies that work alongside cookies — including tracking pixels, tags, local storage, and session recording scripts — which we refer to collectively as cookies below.
Managing Your Preferences
When you first visit topture.com you are presented with a cookie consent banner allowing you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored and applied on subsequent visits. You can change your preferences at any time through the cookie settings on our site, and through the additional controls listed under Your Choices below.
Declining non-essential cookies does not prevent you from browsing or purchasing.
How We Use Cookies
Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for the website to function. They power your shopping cart, checkout process, account login, currency and country selection, fraud prevention, and your cookie consent preferences. These cookies are set by Shopify and cannot be disabled without breaking core site functionality.
Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors navigate our site — which pages are popular, where visitors drop off, and how they find us. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the shopping experience.
Our Own First-Party Analytics
We operate our own first-party analytics and attribution system on topture.com. It sets cookies on our own domain and is used to understand which marketing brought a visitor to the site and how people move through it. Specifically, it stores:
- A randomly generated visitor identifier, retained for up to 24 months, which lets us recognise a returning visitor without identifying you by name
- Advertising click identifiers (such as Google's GCLID) and campaign parameters (UTM tags), retained for up to 90 days, so we can attribute an order to the ad or campaign that led to it
- Page interaction data — pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and cart activity
This information is associated with your order if you make a purchase, and a hashed (irreversibly scrambled) version of your email address may be shared with Google to measure advertising performance. We do not sell this data.
Session Recording
We use Microsoft Clarity to record and replay anonymised sessions on our website. This captures interactions such as mouse movement, clicks, taps, scrolling and page navigation, which we use to diagnose usability problems and improve the site.
Clarity is configured to mask text content by default, and we do not use it to capture passwords or payment card details. Session recordings are processed by Microsoft as our service provider. You can opt out of session recording by declining non-essential cookies in our consent banner, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Advertising and Marketing Cookies
We run advertising through Google Ads and use conversion tracking to measure which ads lead to purchases. These cookies store ad click data and may be used by Google's advertising network for remarketing.
We use Klaviyo for email marketing, which places a cookie to identify returning visitors and personalise communications.
We use Retention.com, an identity resolution service. This technology attempts to match anonymous website visitors to known contact records so that we can follow up by email. It is more identifying than ordinary advertising cookies, which is why we call it out separately. You can opt out directly at the link under Your Choices below, and declining non-essential cookies prevents it from running.
Functional Cookies
Our live chat (powered by Crisp) and customer review system (powered by Judge.me) set cookies to maintain chat sessions and manage review interactions. These enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary for purchasing.
How Long Cookies Last
Some cookies last only for your browsing session and are deleted when you close your browser. Others persist so that we recognise you on a return visit — our own visitor identifier is retained for up to 24 months, and advertising and campaign identifiers for up to 90 days. Third-party cookies are governed by the retention periods of the provider that sets them; see their policies via the links below.
Your Choices
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Our consent banner: Accept or decline non-essential cookies when you first visit, and change your choice at any time through our cookie settings.
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help menu for instructions. Note that blocking essential cookies will affect cart and checkout functionality.

California and other US states. Some of the advertising and identity resolution technologies described above may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and under similar laws in other states. Canada. If you are located in Canada, you have rights under PIPEDA and, in Quebec, under Law 25 — including the right to know what personal information we hold, to access and correct it, and to withdraw consent to non-essential tracking. Contact us using the details below.
