Indoor hybrid saunas compared: seats, footprint, heater and power
Both indoor hybrid saunas in this collection side by side: seats as Finnmark rates them; exterior size in inches (width × depth × height) from Finnmark's manuals; heater and power supply as listed by Finnmark and by Bathing Brands, its distributor; each sauna's lowest current price; freight to the contiguous United States.

By headcount and floor space, the two indoor hybrid saunas here split like this:
-
Two people: for a couple, or a room with less floor to spare, begin with the FD-4 Trinity. Its footprint is 48.8 by 48.8 inches, and Finnmark's rating is two people.
-
Three or four people: for a household of three or four, choose the FD-5 Trinity XL, and measure the room for its 74.8 by 63.8 inch footprint; Finnmark's rating is three to four people.
Indoor hybrid sauna room checklist
Before ordering an indoor hybrid sauna, check the room on five points:
-
Height and clearance: Both Trinity cabins stand 83.1 inches high, and Finnmark's manuals add a minimum 3-inch gap above the sauna and on every side so the main power cord can be reached. Measure the ceiling and the walls around the chosen spot for the cabin plus that gap.
-
Floor and room: Finnmark's manuals want the sauna on a solid surface in a dry area, say it should not be built into any structure, and suggest rooms such as a basement, an attic, a garage or a spare bedroom. Standing one outdoors comes with conditions in the same manuals.
-
Power point: On both Trinity models, Finnmark's manuals place the power supply at the top front of the cabin with a cord of about 9 feet, so the cabin's spot and its power point are planned together.
-
Water and drain: Neither Trinity manual calls for a drain, a water line or any plumbing connection: Finnmark's installation steps cover the panels, mounting the Harvia heater and the power, and Finnmark describes the steam as water splashed onto the heater's rocks.
-
Delivery and assembly: A freight carrier brings the sauna to the curb by appointment, on a wooden pallet from Bathing Brands. Finnmark's manuals show the panels (front with the glass door, back, two sides, roof and floor), the bench parts and the power supply being screwed together where the sauna will stand, call for a minimum of two physically able people and print "Professional installation required". If stairs, a hallway or a doorway stand between the curb and the room, raise site-access questions before you order.
Indoor hybrid sauna power: matching a Trinity to the room's circuits
-
FD-4 Trinity: for the infrared side, Finnmark's manual specifies a dedicated 15 A, 120 V circuit kept for the sauna alone, and Finnmark lists the cabin's 1.9 kW Harvia Vega Compact heater at 15.9 A on 120 V.
-
FD-5 Trinity XL: Finnmark lists its 4.5 kW Harvia KIP45B heater at 18.8 A on 240 V, marked "Electrician Required", and Bathing Brands lists the same heater at 240 V single-phase, with 208 V three-phase also available. Confirm the FD-5's infrared supply with Topture before an electrician quotes the work. If the sauna room can only have 120 V circuits, that rules out the FD-5 Trinity XL and leaves the FD-4 Trinity.
Each Trinity manual ends its heater step by having Harvia's installation manual handed to a licensed electrician, and specifies no circuit for the heater itself; Finnmark's manuals also have a licensed electrician do all the wiring under local codes and ordinances. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the sauna's manual, the Harvia heater's manual and your local code.
Indoor hybrid sauna infrared setting and warm-up time
The infrared control on the FD-4 and FD-5 Trinity can be set to a maximum of 170°F, Finnmark's manuals say. By the same manuals, allow about 15 to 20 minutes for a comfortable temperature, and 55 to 60 minutes to reach that 170°F infrared setting. The setting and the warm-up both depend on the room around the cabin: Finnmark's manuals note that the setting may not be reached, depending on room temperature, air flow and placement, and that warm-up varies with the air temperature.
Indoor hybrid sauna prices and the room costs to budget
Each indoor hybrid sauna here includes the Harvia heater Finnmark fits it with and Harvia AC3000 sauna stones from Bathing Brands, so there is no heater package to pick: the FD-4 Trinity from $7,795 and the FD-5 Trinity XL from $8,995. Freight to the contiguous United States comes with both. Add the electrician's work and the installer to the price when you budget for the room.
Topture sells both Trinity models as an authorized Finnmark Designs retailer. Each comes with the applicable manufacturer's warranty, subject to the manufacturer's terms, and Topture assists with troubleshooting and warranty coordination; freight protection, financing and support for any indoor sauna are on the indoor saunas page.
