The ThermaSol Lumaria is a traditional cabin with Tyrol wood cladding on the interior walls and thermo-aspen benches behind tempered glass in a black enamel frame. Traditional Heat in This Collection's 5-Person Indoor Saunas

In this collection, a 5-person indoor sauna is a traditional-heat decision. Both cabins here come with an electric sauna heater: Bathing Brands says the Kohler C1 kit includes a freestanding FERO sauna heater with sauna stones and a heater guard, and ThermaSol includes a Harvia Virta electric heater with the Lumaria. Water poured on a sauna heater's stones gives löyly, which an infrared-only cabin can't reproduce.

Choose either 5-person cabin here if löyly from hot stones is part of the plan. If you would rather have radiant heat, neither is infrared, so start with indoor infrared saunas.

Sizing, Headroom, and Placement for a 5-Person Indoor Sauna

Plan the room for a 5-person indoor sauna before the order. The cabin wants a dedicated space, a spare room, a finished basement zone, or a wide spot in a home gym. Measure the ceiling first, especially in a basement with ductwork, and check the room against the dimensions and installation requirements on the product pages.

Check each maker's installation instructions for any wall clearance and leave room for a clean door swing. Kohler says to install the C1 indoors in a location with access to conditioned air, and ThermaSol's specification sheets say the Lumaria installs indoors, within a dry, climate-controlled space.

For a room reached through interior corridors and doorways, start with the C1, which Kohler's Readiness Guide says comes in sections that are easy to carry through them. For the Lumaria, raise site-access questions before you order.

Electrical for a 5-Person Indoor Sauna

Each 5-person cabin here needs a dedicated circuit: Kohler's C1 spec sheets list 220–240 V for every size on one dedicated circuit, and ThermaSol's specification sheets list the Lumaria for a 240 V, single-phase supply on a dedicated circuit. Kohler C1 vs ThermaSol Lumaria at 5-Person

• Choose the Kohler C1 if you want a spruce interior with a spruce or grey exterior and freight included within the contiguous U.S.
• Choose the ThermaSol Lumaria if you want Tyrol wood cladding behind tempered glass in a black enamel frame.

Delivery, Assembly and What You Provide for a 5-Person Indoor Sauna

The C1 ships as a kit: Kohler's Readiness Guide says it arrives on one or two large pallets and is assembled where it will stand. It's not a from-scratch lumber build. Kohler's installation instructions say at least two people are required, and Kohler recommends hiring a professional installer, saying the installation is best suited to skilled DIY individuals or professional tradespeople.

The Lumaria's flat-packed cabin comes on a flatbed trailer, and on residential deliveries the freight company offloads it with no forklift or loading dock needed, per Bathing Brands, ThermaSol's distributor. ThermaSol's installation manuals say installing the Lumaria requires 2–4 people.

You provide the indoor room and a dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician; for the Lumaria, add the basic tools that thermasol.com says ThermaSol's indoor saunas take to assemble.
