What "3 person" means for an outdoor sauna

A 3 person outdoor sauna is a backyard sauna rated for three adults: SaunaLife lists the CL4G cube and the E6 barrel for up to three bathers, and SunRay sells the Waverly, Freeport and Seneca as 3 person cabins. The footprints differ from model to model: SunRay gives the Waverly a 73 by 63 inch roof footprint, SaunaLife lists the CL4G at 80.7 inches wide and 49.2 inches deep, and Dundalk the Granby at 74.25 by 73.25 inches.

Heat and electrical for a 3 person outdoor sauna

To skip choosing a heater package, start with SunRay, ThermaSol and Kohler, which sell their 3 person outdoor saunas with the heat source included. SunRay fits a 4.5 or 6 kW Harvia electric heater, depending on the model, and heats the Grandby with infrared heaters. Each ThermaSol cabin comes with a Harvia heater: electric, from the 3 kW KIP in the solar-powered Solaris to 9 kW, or a Harvia Legend wood-burning heater in the Nordic Misty's wood-burning version. The Kohler C2 ships with its own electric heater.

The SaunaLife, Dundalk LeisureCraft and True North 3 person outdoor saunas are sold with a choice of heater packages, one marked Recommended: a HUUM DROP from 6 to 9 kW on every model except the SaunaLife GL4, whose Recommended package is a HUUM HIVE Mini 6 kW. For wood heat, a Harvia M3 wood stove kit is offered on five Dundalk LeisureCraft models and both True North barrels, and the Dundalk MiniPOD adds a HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package.
