The SunRay Waverly (model 300D2) is a 3-person outdoor traditional sauna built from aged Canadian hemlock, with a metal roof, a glass door between two large front windows, and a 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater with lava rocks included. Its cabin measures 61" W × 51" D × 98" H under a 73" W × 63" D roof, and the room inside is 57" W × 47" D × 73" H. The Waverly is a wet/dry sauna: water poured on the lava rocks from the supplied wooden bucket and ladle raises the humidity. SunRay lists it at 849 lbs, and it ships by LTL freight as a kit for assembly on site.
The Waverly has the same 61" × 51" cabin, 57" × 47" interior and 4.5 kW heater as the SunRay Freeport; the difference is the front, where SunRay gives the Waverly two large front windows and the Freeport a front window and a glass-enclosed door. The SunRay Bristow is the 2-person model with a glass door and a front window, and the SunRay Seneca is a 3-person option in western red cedar with a 6 kW heater. How the SunRay Waverly is built
SunRay builds the Waverly as a sealed outdoor cabin; the heater, digital controls, lighting and sound system are all part of the kit.
- Aged Canadian hemlock cabin: double-paneled walls with tongue-and-groove joints.
- Metal roof: a hip roof overhanging the cabin to a 73" × 63" footprint.
- Front: a glass door with a large window on each side of it.
- 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater: supplied with lava rocks and fitted in a wooden heater frame. SunRay does not name the Harvia model.
- Heat: up to 170°F. SunRay's manual recommends setting 125–170°F and allowing about 45–60 minutes to warm up.
- Rear bench: wide enough, SunRay says, for three people sitting or one person lying down, with a backrest and cup holders.
- Digital keypad: power, a session timer, the thermostat (°F or °C), the interior light, the color light and Bluetooth music. At the set temperature the heater switches on and off to hold it.
- Ceiling vent: opens to let fresh air in during a session.
- Lighting and sound: an interior light, color-changing LED chromotherapy lighting in seven colors, and a Bluetooth sound system.
- Accessories: a hygrometer and thermometer, a sand timer, and a wooden bucket and ladle.
What comes with the SunRay Waverly?
The SunRay Waverly ships as a full outdoor sauna kit including its heater: the hemlock wall and floor panels, the metal roof, the glass door and front windows, the bench, the 4.5 kW Harvia heater with lava rocks, the keypad, the lighting, the sound system, the accessories and SunRay's assembly manual. The 240 V circuit, its connection, a power plug and the foundation are not part of it.

Does the SunRay Waverly include a heater?
Yes. The SunRay Waverly comes with a 4.5 kW Harvia electric heater and its lava rocks, so no separate heater is needed. SunRay does not name the Harvia model. The heater draws 4,500 W and runs on a dedicated 240 V, 30 A circuit put in by a licensed electrician.

Can you assemble the SunRay Waverly yourself?
The cabin, yes; the 240 V connection, no. SunRay's assembly manual is written for at least two adults, SunRay says a Phillips screwdriver or a drill with a Phillips bit is the only tool needed, and SunRay estimates about two hours to build it. The electrical connection is for a licensed electrician.
The manual starts with the floor panel and the back wall, slides the two side walls onto their brackets, and then fits the front wall with the door and windows and the door handle. The heater is lowered into its wooden frame and its plug connected to the cabin's power box. The bench goes into channels in the side walls, followed by the backrest and the accessories; the flat ceiling is then set on, with the accessory wires brought out through it and joined with plug-in connectors, and the outer roof goes on top.
Before the sauna arrives
- Prepare a sturdy, level base. SunRay's manual lists a concrete pad, a wood deck or pavers, says the sauna must not sit directly on the ground, and calls for a floor separator or moisture barrier where the ground is damp.
- Have a licensed electrician run a dedicated 240 V, 30 A circuit to the site, and decide with them whether to hard-wire the Waverly or fit a plug, since none is supplied.

What electrical service does the SunRay Waverly need?
A dedicated 240 V circuit rated for 30 A, the same kind of circuit an electric clothes dryer uses; SunRay lists it as 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz. The heater draws 4,500 W, and no other load can share the circuit. If your electrical panel has no room for another 240 V breaker, your electrician may need to upgrade it before delivery.
SunRay does not include a plug with the Waverly, so it is either hard-wired or fitted with a plug, and a licensed electrician makes the connection either way. Everything inside the cabin plugs together as you build it: the heater into the power box, and the ceiling lights and accessories through plug-in connectors, which leaves the supply circuit as the only site wiring. SunRay's manual refers to the Harvia heater manual shipped with the sauna for the exact voltage and amperage; give your electrician both manuals, and contact us before you order if you would like us to go over the requirements with you.
How do you look after the SunRay Waverly outdoors?
Reseal the exterior every year. SunRay's warranty certificate makes annual resealing a condition of cover for outdoor saunas that come without a weather cover, and SunRay lists no weather cover with the Waverly. SunRay's warranty also regards surface cracks and minor blemishes in the wood as normal, not as defects.
How is the SunRay Waverly delivered?
The SunRay Waverly ships by LTL freight, with its panels boxed and strapped to a wooden pallet, and SunRay lists its shipping weight at 849 lbs. Delivery is curbside with a lift gate, which sets the shipment down on the driveway; moving it from there to the base is your responsibility, so plan the route before the truck arrives.

The carrier will reach out to book the delivery appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal.
Inspect the shipment before you sign. SunRay's warranty excludes freight damage caused by the carrier, so note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph it, and contact us before you start assembly. SunRay's delivery policy asks for internal damage found after unpacking to be reported within 3 business days of delivery.

This warranty covers all SunRay branded saunas purchased directly from SunRay Saunas or any of its authorized affiliates. This warranty is non-transferable.
Structural Warranty — 7 Years
SunRay warrants the sauna structure against manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship for 7 years from the date of purchase.

Note: Surface cracks in the wood and minor blemishes are normal characteristics of natural wood and are not considered defects.

All sauna parts, including the heater and electrical components, are guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase.

What Is NOT Covered

- Accidents or acts of God
- Installation, operation, or maintenance not in accordance with the owner's manual
- Commercial use — saunas used in a commercial setting are excluded from all warranty coverage

Electrical Requirements
Indoor traditional saunas require a dedicated 240V circuit in order to accommodate the high heat output of the heater. Please reference the product specification sheet to determine the specific requirements for your sauna.
Ventilation Requirements
Indoor traditional saunas are equipped with an air vent in the ceiling. This air vent is designed to help circulate heat throughout the sauna during the heat-up phase and to allow moisture to leave the sauna if you are adding humidity and using it as a steam sauna. The sauna cabin air vent also allows you to lower the sauna temperature without opening the door if the temperature inside the sauna becomes too hot.
Maximum Temperature
SunRay indoor traditional saunas have a maximum operating temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit. The normal operating range is 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Traditional Sauna Shipping
All traditional saunas are shipped via truck freight with curbside and lift-gate delivery service unless otherwise specified. SunRay traditional saunas and steam saunas are shipped on a wooden pallet with removable bracing to protect the sauna boxes. Please contact us if you have special requirements for delivery. The trucking company will call you to schedule a delivery appointment.
Sauna Warranty
SunRay home saunas carry a 7-year structural warranty and 1-year parts warranty. All SunRay sauna parts, including electronic parts and the electric heater, are guaranteed for 1 year against defects.
Electrical Connection
Indoor traditional saunas for the home come with a power cord attached to the heater. The power cord does not have a plug. It is designed to be hard-wired into a junction box or you can put a plug on the end of the power cord. Please note that the power requirements differ by sauna model. Consult your traditional sauna user manual for the specific power requirements.
Assembly and Installation
An indoor traditional sauna is easily assembled by two adults. The typical assembly time is 1 hour. No special tools are required for the sauna to be assembled.
Cleaning Your Home Sauna
Your home sauna should be cleaned a minimum of every 3-4 months or more frequently depending on usage. To clean the interior of your home sauna, use a mixture of baking soda and water (3 teaspoons baking soda to 1 gallon of warm water). Using a clean towel, wipe down the interior of the sauna, focusing on where sweat accumulates. Let the area dry with the sauna door open. Use a standard ammonia-based glass cleaner to clean the sauna doors and windows.
Traditional Sauna Origin
SunRay traditional sauna cabins are constructed from Hemlock or Cedar wood imported from Canada. SunRay's manufacturing facility is in China and its distribution facility is in the United States. Warranty claims are handled by SunRay Saunas, based in Richmond, VA, and Topture helps you coordinate them.

Placing an Indoor Sauna Outdoors
SunRay indoor traditional saunas are not rated for outdoor use. They have an open top that is not protected from the elements. If you place the indoor sauna outdoors, it must be covered and protected from the elements. Indoor saunas that are placed outdoors will not be covered under SunRay's sauna warranty.
Sauna Heating Time
The average heating time for traditional home saunas ranges between 30-45 minutes depending on the room temperature, size of the sauna, and the heater type.
Ceiling Clearance
You need at least 3-4 inches between the top of the home sauna and the ceiling. This allows the electrical components on the top of the sauna to receive the appropriate amount of airflow.
Sauna Stones
SunRay indoor traditional saunas come with heater stones that sit on top of the heater elements. The heater stones are used to help radiate heat throughout the sauna and can be used to create humidity inside the sauna. DO NOT pour excess water on the heater stones as it will cause damage to the heater. To create humidity in the sauna, simply drizzle a small amount of water over the stones once they are hot.
Sauna Heater Placement
All indoor traditional saunas are equipped with either a wall mounting bracket or cradle for the heater to sit in. DO NOT place the sauna heater directly on the floor as it could become a fire hazard. The sauna must be elevated off the floor to create airflow through the heating elements.
Sauna Lighting
All indoor traditional saunas come with ambient dome lighting. Saunas with dome lighting can be connected to the heater so that the light turns off when the heater turns off. Alternatively, you can wire the lighting separately on its own switch. Consult your sauna heating wiring guide for instructions on how to wire your sauna light into the heater.
