Description

The Dundalk Palmer (CTC68N) is the mid-size cabin in the Canadian Timber Collection, handcrafted in Ontario from Premium Grade A Eastern White Cedar. Unlike a barrel or pod, the cabin gives you a flat floor, vertical walls and a peaked roof that sheds rain and snow the way a building should. It arrives as a ready-to-assemble kit and goes together with dovetail corner joinery — no corner posts, no frame.

Dundalk rates the Palmer for 4 bathers. The sauna room is 84" wide by 60" deep with an 86-1/4" ceiling — 263 cubic feet. It shares the Georgian's 98-1/4" × 97-1/4" roof, but the cabin under it is 71" deep at the base against the Georgian's 95", so the roof runs forward over the entrance as a covered overhang — which is what makes it a shed-style cabin rather than a full-depth one.

The roof is 28-gauge textured black steel, made in Canada: metal roofing in Ontario-made Hamilton steel over cedar roof boards, finished with metal trim. The cedar itself is naturally weather-resistant without chemical treatment, and Dundalk's single-stave bevels keep the wall line consistent as the wood weathers.

The heater is chosen separately. Dundalk recommends a 6 kW electric heater for the Palmer, which we supply as the HUUM DROP 6 kW package or the Harvia KIP 6 kW, and a wood-burning stove is also supported. For the electric packages, HUUM's manual says the DROP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V, and Harvia's manual says the KIP 6 kW draws 25 amps at 240 V single-phase. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.

The Palmer sits between Dundalk's two other cabins: the compact Granby and the full-depth Georgian, which is also offered with a porch or a changeroom.

Assembly & Installation

What the Palmer build involves

The Palmer is built on site from a machined cedar kit, following Dundalk's illustrated manual through the base frame, walls, roof, metal trim and roof panels, benches and venting.

Tools the manual asks for: cordless driver, #2 Robertson bits (a short one and one 4" or longer), a 1/4" (6 mm) socket, a 1/8" (3 mm) drill bit and a 1/4" × 8"-long drill bit, a 5/32" (4 mm) hex key or bit, rubber mallet, hammer, tape measure, marker or pencil, chalk, level, metal snips and a step ladder. The hole saw is included in the kit.

Foundation

Dundalk asks for a base that is level with a slight slope to the back for drainage — crushed stone, patio stone or paver blocks, a concrete pad or a wood deck. It also suggests building the base larger than the sauna, to leave a place to sit and cool off.

Electrical

All electrical connections must be made by a qualified electrician.

Shipping

How is the Dundalk Palmer delivered?

The Palmer ships by LTL freight on a crate, delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway. Deliveries are usually made with an 18-wheel truck, so check it can reach your street. The carrier books a delivery appointment and does not unload — offloading is the customer's job, usually with a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or by renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At 96" long the crate is over Dundalk's 92" limit, so there will be no lift gate — plan the offload before the truck is booked.

Check the shipment before the driver leaves. If it arrives damaged you can still accept it: photograph the damage, write “Crate arrived open/damaged – possible hidden damage” on the Bill of Lading, and contact us straight away so the claim can be raised with the carrier.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. You’ll find the warranty details for each product under the "Warranty" tab on its product page, and we help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination if an issue comes up.

Do you have a showroom?
