Description

The ProSaunas Universal Himalayan Salt Sauna Light Kit is a 48-inch-wide wall feature of 2-inch-thick pink Himalayan salt bricks, lit from behind by warm-white (3500K) 24-volt LED strips and built recessed into a framed opening in the sauna wall. It comes in three heights: 4, 12 or 16 inches, which is one, three or four rows of bricks. It switches on and off with a standard switched 120-volt circuit, or it can be wired into the sauna heater's power module so the heater's control unit switches it; the manual shows Harvia, HUUM and Saunum connections.

The finished feature is 4-1/8 inches deep. All three are 48 inches wide; ProSaunas allows the width (not the height) to be shortened on site by cutting the bricks with a wet tile saw, the channels with a metal-rated blade, and the LED strips at their marked cut points every 1.97 inches.

How it is built into the wall

The feature sits in an opening framed into a 2x4 stud wall like a window, with 3/4-inch hardwood plywood backing screwed to horizontal 2x4s. Stainless-steel channels screw to the opening, an LED strip adheres 2 inches above each channel, and the notched salt bricks slide onto the channels row by row. A conduit of at least 1 inch carries the low-voltage light cables back to the power supply, which mounts outside the sauna. The wall boards then stand off the studs on furring of at least 1.5 inches; boards from 9/16 to 1-3/16 inches thick fit the framing drawings.

Living with Himalayan salt

Salt absorbs humidity, so in humid rooms salt crystals can form on the brick faces; ProSaunas says they can simply be wiped off. The color of natural salt varies from lighter to darker pink. ProSaunas warns that in very humid or wet outdoor conditions the salt attracts water, which may stain the walls.

Delivery

The 4 x 48 in kit ships by parcel. The 12 x 48 in and 16 x 48 in kits ship by freight truck on a wooden pallet, with curbside delivery by appointment.

Installation

Installation requirements from the ProSaunas manual

  • Certified electrician: ProSaunas' manual requires the lighting to be installed by a certified electrician to the National Electrical Code and local building codes. The electrician decides the outlet type, box configuration and wiring, including any connection to the heater's power module.
  • Power supply outside the sauna: it must go in a dry place away from humidity, heat and water, never inside the sauna room.
  • Wall strength: the wall must carry the finished feature: about 34 lb for the 4-inch, 97 lb for the 12-inch and 124 to 128 lb for the 16-inch size. Frame it to local building codes.
  • Tools: tape measure, level, square, hammer, circular saw (or table saw), drill/driver, ladder, safety glasses and cut-resistant gloves; the stainless channels have sharp edges.
  • Materials not included: 2x4 lumber, 3/4-inch hardwood plywood, 3/4-inch lath screws and conduit.
  • LED strips: fully uncoil a strip before powering it and do not fold or twist it.

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

Topture is an online retailer serving customers in the contiguous United States. The company is Topture LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, and its registered business address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Every charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. You’ll find the warranty details for each product under the "Warranty" tab on its product page, and we help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination if an issue comes up.

Do you have a showroom?

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states, with curbside freight delivery for large items. Free shipping and standard rates apply there only. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. islands and Canada are quoted separately, depending on the brand and model. We can't ship freight or oversized items to P.O. boxes.
