Kohler Sauna Professional Installation | C1 & C2 (Electrical Not Included)

Kohler's authorized installation service for the C1 Indoor and C2 Outdoor Sauna. An installation crew comes to your address on a scheduled appointment, checks the site is ready, unpacks the sauna, assembles it in the position you have chosen, tests that it heats and the controls work, and takes every piece of packaging away with them.

Kohler recommends a professional installer for both of these saunas. Assembly needs a minimum of two people, and a C2 arrives as roughly 2,300–2,900 lbs of panels on one or two pallets.

The rate is flat per sauna line — it does not change with cabin size, wood finish, or floor option. Add it to your order here and it is scheduled together with your sauna.

• On-site evaluation of site readiness before work begins
• Full unpacking and uncrating of the sauna
• Complete assembly at the location you have chosen
• Functional testing to confirm the sauna heats and the controls operate
• Removal and disposal of all packing material and pallets

Electrical work is not included. The installers assemble and test the sauna; they do not run circuits, fit receptacles, or connect your sauna to your panel. All electrical work must be completed by a certified electrician, and the supply must be live and working before the installers arrive — they cannot test the sauna otherwise.

• C1 Indoor — a dedicated 240V circuit: 30A with a NEMA 6-30P outlet on the 2- and 3-person cabins, 50A with a NEMA 6-50P outlet on the 5-person. The sauna's cord is 9'10" and exits the top rear, so the outlet has to stay reachable after the cabin is built. In an alcove the outlet must sit above the sauna, on a vertical wall, toward the front third.
• C2 Outdoor — a dedicated 240V 50A supply with a NEMA 14-50R receptacle installed at the sauna site. The C2 also ships without a power cable: you supply a lockable extension cord, NEMA 14-50P on one end and NEMA SS2-50R on the other, sourced through a certified electrician.

Also outside the scope of this service, in Kohler's own words — "anything pertaining to site electrical, site ventilation, and site cosmetics/finishing." In practice that means:

• Site preparation — the level pad, concrete or compacted gravel, and drainage for a C2; a level, clean, non water-absorbent floor for a C1
• Anchoring hardware for a concrete pad (the ground nails for gravel installs are included with the sauna)
• A utility locate before ground nails go in — they are deep enough to puncture buried pipe or cable
• Room ventilation, ducting, or an exhaust fan for an alcove C1 install
• Trim, tile, painting, or any other finishing around the sauna
• Permits, structural engineering, or local code sign-off

These are two different appointments on two different days, and your sauna's freight is already included in the sauna's own price — this service does not replace it or change it.

1. Delivery first. Your sauna arrives on a lift-gate truck as one or two large pallets. The driver's responsibility is curbside delivery only: he lowers the pallets to ground level and leaves. He does not carry, uncrate, or move anything to your pad.
2. Installation second. The installation crew comes on the separately scheduled date and does everything listed above.

Between the two you are responsible for the pallets, so you need somewhere dry, level, and secure to keep them. The uncrating spot does not have to be the final spot — the sauna comes apart into sections the crew can carry through corridors and doorways.

The property owner should be available for both appointments.

• Electrical supply installed by a certified electrician, live, and tested
• C2 only: your NEMA 14-50P to SS2-50R lockable extension cord on hand
• Site level and, for a C2, drained so water cannot pool at the base
• Utility locate done if ground nails will be used
• A clear, blocked-off perimeter around the work area for the safety of children and pets
• Dry weather if at all possible — wood and electrical components should not be worked on wet
• Adequate lighting if the appointment runs early or late in the day

• The sauna should not be moved once installation is complete, so decide the final position before the crew arrives.
• Installation hardware is included with the sauna itself — you are buying the labour, not parts.
