Description

What is the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package?

The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package combines four parts: the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 wood-burning sauna stove, six 33 lb boxes of HUUM Stones 24, HUUM Protective Bed S and the HUUM chimney kit you choose. It is sized for sauna rooms of 212–459 cu ft, burns wood logs only and needs no electrical connection. The package price is the sum of its four parts; ordering them together means the stone quantity, bed size and chimney kit are already matched to the stove.

The HIVE Wood 13's round steel frame holds 199 lb (90 kg) of stones, which HUUM says gives long-lasting, mild steam, and its glass door shows the fire. A 0.2 in (5 mm) stainless-steel flame tamer lines the firebox.

Which chimney kit should I choose?

All three kits connect to the top of the HIVE Wood 13; choose the one that matches where the chimney leaves your sauna. HUUM leaves the chimney's height to local fire-safety regulations, and HUUM extension pipes lengthen any of the kits.

Chimney kit options in this package (HUUM chimney-set sheets)
Where the chimney exits How it runs
HUUM Thru-Wall Chimney Kit (H3102) Through the side wall Off the top of the stove, 90° through the wall, then up the outside wall on an adjustable bracket
HUUM Barrel Chimney Kit (H3101) Through a single-layer roof, flat or curved (barrel) Straight up through the roof, sealed by a universal rubber roof flashing
HUUM Thru-Angled Ceiling Chimney Kit (H3100) Through the ceiling and a roof pitched 0–20° Straight up, with a rigid roof penetration, rain collar and chimney cap

Every HIVE Wood model, as a stove and as a package, is in the HUUM HIVE Wood collection; all HUUM wood-burning stoves are in the HUUM wood-burning stove collection.

Installation

How is the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package installed?

The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 stands on a non-combustible floor strong enough for the stove and 199 lb of stones; on a wood or other combustible floor, the package's Protective Bed S goes underneath. HUUM's bedding sheet says to place the bed so the stove's safety distances are met, level its legs, centre the stove on it and re-check the distances. Only a specialist may connect the stove to the chimney, and HUUM recommends a specialist lay the stones. Installation must follow your local building and fire-safety rules.

HUUM HIVE Wood 13 safety distances

Keep at least these distances from the HIVE Wood 13 to combustible materials. The Reflect HM reflector lets the stove sit at half the safety distance from the wall.

HUUM HIVE Wood 13 minimum distances to combustible materials (manual v9, Table 1)
A: each side 7.48 in (190 mm)
B: behind the stove 9.8 in (250 mm)
C: in front of the door 35.5 in (900 mm)
Above the stove 47.3 in (1,200 mm)
  • In a niche of non-combustible material such as stone or concrete, leave at least 4 in (100 mm) between the wall and the stove for air movement
  • A single heat barrier halves the distance to combustible materials and a double barrier quarters it; leave at least 1.2 in (30 mm) between the barrier and the surface it protects
  • No electrical equipment or wiring may sit inside the stove's safety area

What chimney does the HIVE Wood 13 need?

The HIVE Wood 13's flue outlet is on top of the stove, 4.53 in (115 mm) across. HUUM's manual calls for a T600 chimney with at least 15.81 sq in (10,200 mm²) of cross-section and 12 Pa of draught, joined with metal flue pipes with smooth elbows and venting into its own flue: a flue shared with another furnace is not permitted. Only a specialist may connect the stove to the chimney.

HUUM's Thru-Wall Backside Connection kit is for the HIVE Flow's rear outlet, not the HIVE Wood. HUUM leaves the chimney's height to local fire-safety regulations; HUUM extension pipes lengthen a kit where needed. Keep the kit's single-wall parts at least 19.7 in (500 mm) and double-wall parts at least 2 in (50 mm) from combustible materials.

First firing

Fire the stove outdoors once before installing it: HUUM's manual says the heat-resistant paint on the outer casing gives off an unpleasant odor while it cures during the first firing, and a short piece of flue on the smoke outlet improves the draft. Until then, handle the painted metal carefully to avoid scratches.

Firing and caring for the HIVE Wood 13

  • Burn wood logs only. HUUM finds 11.8 in (30 cm) logs for the HIVE Wood 13 best, 3.1–5.9 in (8–15 cm) across, with some small, easily lit pieces at the start
  • Open the ash tray up to 0.4 in (10 mm) while lighting, then close it to 0.08–0.12 in (2–3 mm) depending on the draught, and keep the door closed except to add wood
  • If the firebox glows red, the stove is overheating: close the ash tray completely, keep the door shut and, if possible, cut off air to the room. HUUM does not cover metal deformed by overheating
  • Empty the ash tray before each firing, clean the stove's heating surfaces at least every 20 uses and have the chimney and flues cleaned at least once a year
  • Wash the stones before laying them; HUUM recommends a specialist lay them. Ceramic stones can shorten the stove's life, and crumbled stones should be replaced once a year
  • Keep water off the hot door glass, and don't throw salt water, hard water or iron-rich water on the stove
  • HUUM gives no fixed heat-up time: it depends on the wall materials, the room's size and the stove's output
Warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package includes four parts: the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 wood-burning stove with HUUM's installation and user instructions, six 33 lb boxes of HUUM Stones 24, the quantity HUUM specifies for its 199 lb stone capacity, HUUM Protective Bed S, and the chimney kit you choose: Thru-Wall (H3102), flat or curved roof (H3101) or Thru-Angled Ceiling (H3100). Not included: extension pipes, if your chimney must be taller than the kit, and the specialist who connects the stove to the chimney. The Reflect HM reflector and the HUUM stone cage are offered as add-ons.
What size sauna is the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package for?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package is for sauna rooms of 212–459 cu ft (6–13 m³), according to HUUM's manual. A room of 283–565 cu ft can take the HIVE Wood 17 kW package instead, whose stove holds 287 lb of stones and takes logs up to 15.7 in long; the HIVE Wood 13 holds 199 lb and takes logs up to 11.8 in. The HIVE Wood 13 stands 29.6 in (750 mm) tall with a 17.7 in (450 mm) round frame, and HUUM's manual keeps it at least 7.48 in from combustible materials at the sides.
Which chimney kit should I choose in the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package?
Choose the chimney kit in the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package by where the chimney leaves your sauna; all three connect to the top of the stove. The Thru-Wall kit (H3102) turns 90° through the side wall, with a cleaning-hatch elbow inside, and runs up the outside wall on an adjustable bracket. The flat-or-curved-roof kit (H3101) goes straight up through a roof that is also the ceiling, flat or curved (barrel), sealed by a universal rubber roof flashing. The Thru-Angled Ceiling kit (H3100) goes straight up through the ceiling and a roof pitched 0–20°. Chimney height follows local fire-safety rules, and HUUM extension pipes lengthen any kit.
What chimney does the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 need?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 connects to its chimney at the top, through a 4.53 in (115 mm) flue outlet. HUUM's manual calls for a T600 chimney with at least 15.81 sq in (10,200 mm²) of cross-section and 12 Pa of draught, venting into its own flue, never shared with another furnace, and joined with metal flue pipes with smooth elbows. Only a specialist may connect the stove to the chimney. The kit's single-wall parts must stay at least 19.7 in (500 mm) from combustible materials and its double-wall parts at least 2 in (50 mm).
How is the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package installed?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 stands on a non-combustible floor strong enough for the stove and 199 lb of stones; on a wood or other combustible floor, the package's Protective Bed S goes underneath, levelled on its adjustable legs with the stove centred on it. HUUM's manual keeps the stove at least 7.48 in (190 mm) from combustible materials at the sides, 9.8 in (250 mm) behind, 35.5 in (900 mm) in front and 47.3 in (1,200 mm) above; the Reflect HM reflector lets it sit at half the safety distance from the wall. No electrical wiring may run inside that safety area, and a specialist connects the chimney.
Why buy the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package instead of the parts separately?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package costs exactly the sum of its four parts, the stove, six boxes of stones, Protective Bed S and the chimney kit, so it is not a discount and not a markup. What it saves is matching: the stone quantity, bed size and chimney kit are already chosen for the HIVE Wood 13, and the set goes into the cart in one step. Buying the parts separately makes sense only if you already own stones, a floor bed or a chimney that meets HUUM's requirements.
What firewood does the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 burn, and how is it fired the first time?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 burns wood logs only; HUUM's manual finds logs 11.8 in (30 cm) long and 3.1–5.9 in across best, up to 19 lb (8.6 kg) per load in three parts, with some small, easily lit pieces to start. Open the ash tray up to 0.4 in while lighting, then close it to 0.08–0.12 in and keep the door shut except to add wood. Fire the stove outdoors once before installing it: its heat-resistant paint gives off an odor while it cures, and a short piece of flue on the outlet helps the draft. HUUM gives no fixed heat-up time; it depends on the room's wall materials, its size and the stove's output.
How do you load and maintain the stones in the HUUM HIVE Wood 13?
The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 holds 199 lb (90 kg) of stones, and the package's six 33 lb boxes of HUUM Stones 24 are rounded 2–4 in stones. HUUM's manual says to wash the stones before laying them and recommends a specialist lay them; ceramic stones can shorten the stove's life. Temperature swings make stones crumble over time, so replace crumbled ones once a year. Empty the ash tray before each firing, clean the stove's heating surfaces at least every 20 uses and have the chimney and flues cleaned at least once a year.
What problems can happen with the HUUM HIVE Wood 13, and how are they avoided?
Most problems HUUM's manual warns about on the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 come from overfiring and water. A firebox glowing red means overheating, which deforms the metal and is not covered: close the ash tray completely, keep the door shut and, if possible, cut off air to the room. Keep water off the hot door glass, because HUUM's warranty does not cover the tempered glass. Never throw salt water on the stove, and avoid hard or iron-rich water. Forced extract ventilation can cause poor combustion, so HUUM allows it only under a licensed specialist's supervision. After a long break, have a specialist check the firebox, grate, ash tray and chimney before firing.
What warranty comes with the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package?
HUUM's manufacturer warranty covers the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 stove for 3 years of private use or 1 year of commercial use. It excludes the door glass, the ash grate, the sauna stones and HUUM accessories, which include the package's Protective Bed S and chimney kit, and damage from overheating is not covered. Report visible transport damage within 7 days of delivery, with photos, before installing. It applies to products bought from HUUM or its authorized dealers; Topture is an authorized HUUM dealer and helps with troubleshooting and warranty coordination.
How does the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package compare with the HUUM HIVE Flow Mini package?
The biggest difference is the chimney connection. The HUUM HIVE Wood 13 connects at the top only and needs a T600 chimney on its own flue, while the HIVE Flow Mini can connect at the top or the back and needs a T450 chimney, so its package also offers HUUM's rear-connection chimney kit. The two cover similar rooms, 212–459 cu ft for the HIVE Wood 13 and 212–494 cu ft for the 8.5 kW HIVE Flow Mini, and both packages include Protective Bed S. The HIVE Wood 13 holds 199 lb of stones, six boxes; the HIVE Flow Mini takes 231 lb, seven boxes. The HIVE Wood is the lower stove, 29.6 in tall against 34.8 in.
Where can you buy the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package from an authorized dealer?
Topture is an authorized HUUM retailer, listed in HUUM's own dealer directory, and sells the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package with all three HUUM chimney kits. The package comes sized for rooms of 212–459 cu ft, with the Reflect HM reflector and the HUUM stone cage offered as add-ons. Topture adds Lifetime Expert Support, help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination, free shipping on orders over $200 within the continental US, financing through Shop Pay Installments at checkout, and a 30-day return window.
What does the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package cost in total, delivered?
The delivered cost of the HUUM HIVE Wood 13 kW package from Topture is the package price, which is exactly the stove, six boxes of stones, Protective Bed S and the chosen chimney kit added together. Topture has free shipping on orders over $200 within the continental US, so the package ships free there. Budget separately for the specialist who connects the chimney, for HUUM extension pipes if local rules call for a taller chimney, and for the Reflect HM if the room needs it. Compare delivered totals, because some listings price the stove without its stones and chimney. Financing is available through Shop Pay Installments at checkout.

General Topture Questions

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

Topture is an online retailer serving customers in the contiguous United States. The company is Topture LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, and its registered business address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Every charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. You’ll find the warranty details for each product under the "Warranty" tab on its product page, and we help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination if an issue comes up.

Do you have a showroom?

We don’t have a showroom — we sell online. Our team is available by phone, email and chat to help you compare models, sizes and heaters, and we can send dimensions, installation manuals and electrical requirements before you buy.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states, with curbside freight delivery for large items. Free shipping and standard rates apply there only. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. islands and Canada are quoted separately, depending on the brand and model. We can't ship freight or oversized items to P.O. boxes.

Do you ship internationally?

International Shipping

For many products, yes, including to Canada, by custom quote. Email contact@topture.com with the product and your address before you order; availability and cost depend on the brand and model. Any duties, taxes and customs fees are your responsibility.
