The SunRay Pacific (model 400D6) is a 4-person outdoor far-infrared sauna built from Canadian hemlock, with a painted, weatherproof finish, a metal composite roof and a glass door between two front windows. Its cabin is 72" W × 62" D × 88" H, its roof covers an 88" W × 82" D footprint, and the interior measures 68" W × 57" D × 73" H. The far-infrared heaters draw 4,800 W and reach 140°F on a dedicated 240 V, 30 A circuit. SunRay lists the Pacific at 401 lbs, and it ships by LTL freight as a kit for on-site assembly.
The Pacific is the 4-person model in SunRay's modern outdoor infrared series. The 2-person SunRay Logan is the smaller version, with a 49" × 49" cabin and a 2,800 W system on a 20 A circuit, and the two share SunRay's D6 assembly manual. For other sizes and brands, see our outdoor infrared saunas.
How the SunRay Pacific heats
The Pacific heats with far-infrared panels instead of a stove, and SunRay rates the cabin to 140°F.
- Far-infrared heaters: 4,800 W across the system. SunRay publishes neither how many heaters there are nor their type.
- Temperature: up to 140°F. SunRay's D6 manual suggests setting it to 104–122°F and allows around 30 minutes of warm-up.
- Control panel: one digital panel inside the cabin handles power, the session timer, the thermostat (reads in °F or °C), the interior light, the color light and Bluetooth music, and the heaters cycle on and off to hold the set temperature. A separate switch on the back of the bench runs the exterior lights.
- Roof vent: opens during a session to let in fresh air.
- Lighting: LED lights inside and outside the cabin, and a chromotherapy light with seven colors.
- Sound: a Bluetooth sound system.
- Air purification system: listed by SunRay among the Pacific's features.
- Seating: a bench for four, with a backrest and cup holders.
- Cabin: Canadian hemlock with a painted, weatherproof finish under a metal composite roof, and a glass door between two front windows.

What electrical connection does the SunRay Pacific need?
A dedicated 240 V outlet on its own 30 A circuit, the same kind of circuit an electric clothes dryer uses; SunRay lists the supply as 220–240 V. The Pacific's heaters draw 4,800 W, SunRay's D6 manual requires the sauna to be installed on a dedicated circuit, and a licensed electrician runs it. If your electrical panel has no room for another 240 V breaker, your electrician may need to upgrade it first.
SunRay does not state which 240 V plug the Pacific uses, so contact us before the outlet is installed and we will confirm the connection with you. The cabin's own wiring is plug-in: when the bench support goes in, its heater plugs are connected inside the bench cavity, so the circuit and its outlet are the only electrical work on site. Have both ready before the sauna arrives.
Where can the SunRay Pacific be installed?
Outdoors, on a sturdy, level base. SunRay made the Pacific for outdoor placement, with a weatherproof finish on the hemlock and a metal composite roof. The D6 manual lists a concrete pad, a wood deck or another solid surface, rules out setting the sauna directly on the ground, and calls for a floor separator or moisture barrier where the floor would sit on damp ground. Allow space for the 88" × 82" roof footprint, which is larger than the 72" × 62" cabin.
Looking after it outdoors
The D6 manual recommends repainting the Pacific's exterior or treating it with a waterproof sealer every year, and SunRay's warranty certificate requires annual resealing for outdoor saunas sold without a weather cover. The Pacific does not come with one.
How is the SunRay Pacific assembled?
From flat-packed panels, in the order SunRay's D6 series manual sets out. The base goes on a solid, level surface, and the back and side walls get a layer of waterproof sealant along their edges and bottoms; the back wall goes on first, and the side walls buckle to it at each corner. The vertical bench support with its heater slides into slots in the side panels and its plugs are connected inside the bench cavity, then the bench seat is fixed with two 35 mm screws. The front panel with the door latches onto the side panels (the door can be taken off to make the panel easier to handle), and the door handle goes on with two 20 mm Phillips screws.
The backrest support is screwed to the back wall where you want it, the inner and outer roof go on, silicone is run along the middle seam where the metal composite overlaps, and the roof is screwed down at each corner and in the middle before its white plastic cover is peeled off. Silicone on the outside corners and the door threshold finishes the build. SunRay says two people can put it together in about two hours with a Phillips screwdriver or a drill with a Phillips bit; the silicone steps also need a caulking gun. The 240 V connection is work for a licensed electrician.
How is the SunRay Pacific delivered?
The SunRay Pacific ships by LTL freight, with its panels boxed and strapped to a wooden pallet, and SunRay lists its shipping weight at 401 lbs. Delivery is curbside with a lift gate, which lowers the shipment to the driveway; moving it from there to the base is up to you, so plan the route before the truck arrives.

|---|---|
| Delivery point | Curbside, lowered to the driveway by lift gate |
| Shipping weight | 401 lbs (SunRay) |

SunRay's warranty excludes freight damage caused by the carrier, so note any visible damage on the delivery receipt, photograph it, and contact us before you start assembly. SunRay's delivery policy asks for internal damage found after unpacking to be reported within 3 business days of delivery.
The Pacific and the Logan share SunRay's D6 series assembly manual. It gives both models' dimensions and power requirements, the build sequence, the controller and operation, so your electrician can check the requirements before delivery.

Electrical Requirements
Indoor traditional saunas require a dedicated 240V circuit in order to accommodate the high heat output of the heater. Please reference the product specification sheet to determine the specific requirements for your sauna.
Ventilation Requirements
Indoor traditional saunas are equipped with an air vent in the ceiling. This air vent is designed to help circulate heat throughout the sauna during the heat-up phase and to allow moisture to leave the sauna if you are adding humidity and using it as a steam sauna. The sauna cabin air vent also allows you to lower the sauna temperature without opening the door if the temperature inside the sauna becomes too hot.
Maximum Temperature
SunRay indoor traditional saunas have a maximum operating temperature of 170 degrees Fahrenheit. The normal operating range is 160-170 degrees Fahrenheit.
Traditional Sauna Shipping
All traditional saunas are shipped via truck freight with curbside and lift-gate delivery service unless otherwise specified. SunRay traditional saunas and steam saunas are shipped on a wooden pallet with removable bracing to protect the sauna boxes. Please contact us if you have special requirements for delivery. The trucking company will call you to schedule a delivery appointment.
Sauna Warranty
SunRay home saunas carry a 7-year structural warranty and 1-year parts warranty. All SunRay sauna parts, including electronic parts and the electric heater, are guaranteed for 1 year against defects.
Electrical Connection
Indoor traditional saunas for the home come with a power cord attached to the heater. The power cord does not have a plug. It is designed to be hard-wired into a junction box or you can put a plug on the end of the power cord. Please note that the power requirements differ by sauna model. Consult your traditional sauna user manual for the specific power requirements.
Assembly and Installation
An indoor traditional sauna is easily assembled by two adults. The typical assembly time is 1 hour. No special tools are required for the sauna to be assembled.
Cleaning Your Home Sauna
Your home sauna should be cleaned a minimum of every 3-4 months or more frequently depending on usage. To clean the interior of your home sauna, use a mixture of baking soda and water (3 teaspoons baking soda to 1 gallon of warm water). Using a clean towel, wipe down the interior of the sauna, focusing on where sweat accumulates. Let the area dry with the sauna door open. Use a standard ammonia-based glass cleaner to clean the sauna doors and windows.
Traditional Sauna Origin
SunRay traditional sauna cabins are constructed from Hemlock or Cedar wood imported from Canada. SunRay's manufacturing facility is in China and its distribution facility is in the United States. Warranty claims are handled by SunRay Saunas, based in Richmond, VA, and Topture helps you coordinate them.
Sauna Specification Sheets
Each SunRay sauna has a specification sheet with all the details of the kit, including the power requirements. Contact us if you would like a copy.
Placing an Indoor Sauna Outdoors
SunRay indoor traditional saunas are not rated for outdoor use. They have an open top that is not protected from the elements. If you place the indoor sauna outdoors, it must be covered and protected from the elements. Indoor saunas that are placed outdoors will not be covered under SunRay's sauna warranty.
Sauna Heating Time
The average heating time for traditional home saunas ranges between 30-45 minutes depending on the room temperature, size of the sauna, and the heater type.
Ceiling Clearance
You need at least 3-4 inches between the top of the home sauna and the ceiling. This allows the electrical components on the top of the sauna to receive the appropriate amount of airflow.
Sauna Stones
SunRay indoor traditional saunas come with heater stones that sit on top of the heater elements. The heater stones are used to help radiate heat throughout the sauna and can be used to create humidity inside the sauna. DO NOT pour excess water on the heater stones as it will cause damage to the heater. To create humidity in the sauna, simply drizzle a small amount of water over the stones once they are hot.
Sauna Heater Placement
All indoor traditional saunas are equipped with either a wall mounting bracket or cradle for the heater to sit in. DO NOT place the sauna heater directly on the floor as it could become a fire hazard. The sauna must be elevated off the floor to create airflow through the heating elements.
Sauna Lighting
All indoor traditional saunas come with ambient dome lighting. Saunas with dome lighting can be connected to the heater so that the light turns off when the heater turns off. Alternatively, you can wire the lighting separately on its own switch. Consult your sauna heating wiring guide for instructions on how to wire your sauna light into the heater.
