How freight delivery works

  1. The carrier books a time with you

When your order reaches a local depot, the freight company calls or texts you to schedule a delivery date and time window.

  2. Curbside, lowered to the ground

Most orders arrive with a liftgate. Standard delivery does not include moving it to your yard, unpacking or installation.

  3. Inspect before you sign

Note any damage on the delivery receipt and take photos before the driver leaves. Report damage to us within 24 hours.

Description

The Dundalk Tranquility MP (CTC2345MP) is a Canadian Timber barrel sauna, handcrafted in Ontario. The barrel shape is the point: less air above your head than a cabin of the same floor area, so it comes up to temperature faster and holds heat with a smaller heater. The staves are drawn together by steel bands, with no frame and no corner posts, with half-moon panoramic windows.

Dundalk rates the Tranquility MP for 6 bathers. The room measures 83" W × 94-3/4" D × 79" H — 297 cu ft, with two-tier benches down both sides.

The staves are thermally stable cedar, drawn tight by bands that you tension during assembly and re-check in the first season as the wood settles.

The heater is chosen separately. Dundalk recommends 9 kW for the Tranquility MP, a size up from the standard Tranquility's 7.5 kW, which we supply as the HUUM DROP 9 kW package. The Harvia KIP is offered at 8 kW, the closest KIP size, and wood-burning stoves are also offered. For the electric packages, HUUM's manual says the DROP 9 kW draws 37.5 amps at 240 V, and Harvia's manual says the KIP 8 kW draws 33.3 amps at 240 V single-phase. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.

Dundalk builds the barrel in three lengths on one 86-1/4" diameter: the Harmony, the Serenity (same room, with a covered front porch) and the Tranquility. The MP versions add half-moon panoramic windows.

What's Included?

The full barrel sauna kit:

  • Premium Eastern White Cedar staves, machined at the factory
  • Front wall with a pre-hung door in 5 mm bronze tempered glass, and a back wall with the halfmoon upper window in double-pane 5 mm bronze tempered glass
  • Barrel bands with stainless steel tightening bolts
  • An 18" (45 cm) covered front porch
  • Cedar benches down both sides of the room
  • Removable flat floor
  • Solid cedar cradles
  • A square spacer board for fine-tuning the top stave during assembly
  • Hardware and Dundalk's illustrated assembly manual

Heater sold separately. Choose a matched heater package in the heater options on this page, or contact us if you would like a different heater.

Sauna accessories. Add a Cold Plunge Tub, Outdoor Shower, Backrests, Bucket & Ladle, Lights, Thermometer or Sand Timer to complete the setup.

Assembly & Installation

What the Tranquility MP build involves

The barrel goes together on site following Dundalk's illustrated manual: the machined cedar staves are fitted around the front and back walls and drawn tight with the bands. Dundalk recommends two people for the job.

The manual also covers fitting a wood-burning heater, with the chimney out through the top or out through the back wall, if you choose one.

Tools the manual asks for: cordless drill with Phillips and Robertson bits, 3/4" (19 mm) wrench or nut-driver bit, 5/16" (8 mm) nut-driver bit, 7/16" (11 mm) socket, rubber mallet, carpenter's level, tape measure, utility knife, adjustable wrench, jigsaw, a 2" (51 mm) hole saw and a step ladder.

After the first month: Dundalk's care guide has you check the bands once the sauna is installed and tighten any that have loosened with a 3/4" wrench — secure, but not so tight that the cedar staves cannot expand.

Foundation

Dundalk asks for a base that is level with a slight slope to the back for drainage — a concrete pad or a wood deck.

Electrical

Final electrical hookups must be completed by a certified electrician to comply with local codes. Dundalk makes this a condition of warranty validation, not just good practice.

Shipping

How is the Dundalk Tranquility MP delivered?

The Tranquility MP ships by LTL freight on a crate, delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway. Deliveries are usually made with an 18-wheel truck, so check it can reach your street. The carrier books a delivery appointment and does not unload — offloading is the customer's job, usually with a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or by renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At 120" long the crate is over Dundalk's 92" limit, so there will be no lift gate — plan the offload before the truck is booked.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people does the Dundalk Tranquility MP seat?
Dundalk rates the Tranquility MP for 6 bathers. The room measures 83" W x 94-3/4" D x 79" H - 297 cu ft, with two-tier benches down both sides.
What are the Tranquility MP's exterior dimensions, and how much space do I need?
Taken from Dundalk's dimensioned product drawing, the Tranquility MP is 86-1/4" W x 118" D x 86-1/4" H. All three Canadian Timber barrels share the same 86-1/4 inch diameter and differ only in length.
What size heater does the Tranquility MP need?
The heater is sold separately and Dundalk recommends 9 kW for the Tranquility MP, a size up from the standard Tranquility's 7.5 kW. We supply that as the HUUM DROP 9 kW package; the Harvia KIP is offered at 8 kW, the closest KIP size, and wood-burning stoves are also offered.
What wood is the Tranquility MP made from?
Premium Grade A Eastern White Cedar staves, machined at the factory and drawn tight with the barrel bands — the barrel has no corners or frame. It is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insects without chemical treatment.
What is the Tranquility MP's roof made of?
The barrel has no separate roof: its cedar staves form the top, drawn tight by the bands. Dundalk offers an optional shingle roof kit for its barrel saunas.
Do I need an electrician?
Yes. Dundalk requires that final electrical hookups be completed by a certified electrician to comply with local codes, and states that this is a condition of warranty validation. Plan the structure as a two-person build and book the electrician separately.
Is the Tranquility MP really pre-cut, or do I have to cut the wood myself?
The staves arrive machined at the factory, and Dundalk's manual walks through the build step by step. The manual also covers the optional wood-heater installation, with the chimney out through the top or the back wall.
What tools do I need to assemble it?
Dundalk's manual lists a cordless drill with Phillips and Robertson bits, a 3/4 inch wrench or nut-driver bit, a 5/16 inch nut-driver bit, a 7/16 inch socket, a rubber mallet, a carpenter's level, a tape measure, a utility knife, an adjustable wrench, a jigsaw, a 2 inch hole saw and a step ladder. Two people are recommended.
What foundation does the Tranquility MP need?
A level base with a slight slope to the back for drainage — Dundalk lists a concrete pad or a wood deck.
What warranty comes with the Tranquility MP?
Dundalk covers its saunas with a 5-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship. Heater warranties vary by model and are covered by the heater manufacturer. Dundalk conditions warranty validation on the electrical work being completed by a certified electrician.
How is the Tranquility MP delivered, and can I unload it myself?
It ships by LTL freight on a crate measuring 120 by 45 by 34 inches, weighing 1,444 lbs, and is delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway by appointment, usually on an 18-wheel truck. The customer offloads — Dundalk's guidance is a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At over 92 inches long, it arrives without a lift gate. If the crate arrives damaged, you can still accept it: photograph the damage, note it on the Bill of Lading, and contact us straight away.

General Topture Questions

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

Topture is an online retailer serving customers in the contiguous United States. The company is Topture LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, and its registered business address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Every charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. You’ll find the warranty details for each product under the "Warranty" tab on its product page, and we help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination if an issue comes up.

Do you have a showroom?

We don’t have a showroom — we sell online. Our team is available by phone, email and chat to help you compare models, sizes and heaters, and we can send dimensions, installation manuals and electrical requirements before you buy.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states, with curbside freight delivery for large items. Free shipping and standard rates apply there only. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. islands and Canada are quoted separately, depending on the brand and model. We can't ship freight or oversized items to P.O. boxes.

Do you ship internationally?

International Shipping

For many products, yes, including to Canada, by custom quote. Email contact@topture.com with the product and your address before you order; availability and cost depend on the brand and model. Any duties, taxes and customs fees are your responsibility.
