Description

The Dundalk Serenity MP (CTC2245MP) is a Canadian Timber barrel sauna, handcrafted in Ontario. The barrel shape is the point: less air above your head than a cabin of the same floor area, so it comes up to temperature faster and holds heat with a smaller heater. The staves are drawn together by steel bands, with no frame and no corner posts plus a covered front porch, with half-moon panoramic windows.

Seats 4 — Dundalk categorizes the Serenity MP as a 5-person sauna. The room measures 83" W × 71" D × 79" H — 222 cu ft, with two-tier benches down both sides.

The staves are thermally stable cedar, drawn tight by bands that you tension during assembly and re-check in the first season as the wood settles.

The heater is chosen separately. Dundalk recommends 9 kW for the Serenity MP, a size up from the standard Serenity's 7.5 kW, which we supply as the HUUM DROP 9 kW package. The Harvia KIP is offered at 8 kW, the closest KIP size, and wood-burning stoves are also offered. For the electric packages, HUUM's manual says the DROP 9 kW draws 37.5 amps at 240 V, and Harvia's manual says the KIP 8 kW draws 33.3 amps at 240 V single-phase. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.

Dundalk builds the barrel in three lengths on one 86-1/4" diameter: the Harmony, the Serenity (same room, with a covered front porch) and the Tranquility. The MP versions add half-moon panoramic windows.

Assembly & Installation

What the Serenity MP build involves

The barrel goes together on site following Dundalk's illustrated manual: the machined cedar staves are fitted around the front and back walls and drawn tight with the bands. Dundalk recommends two people for the job.

The manual also covers fitting a wood-burning heater, with the chimney out through the top or out through the back wall, if you choose one.

Tools the manual asks for: cordless drill with Phillips and Robertson bits, 3/4" (19 mm) wrench or nut-driver bit, 5/16" (8 mm) nut-driver bit, 7/16" (11 mm) socket, rubber mallet, carpenter's level, tape measure, utility knife, adjustable wrench, jigsaw, a 2" (51 mm) hole saw and a step ladder.

After the first month: Dundalk's care guide has you check the bands once the sauna is installed and tighten any that have loosened with a 3/4" wrench — secure, but not so tight that the cedar staves cannot expand.

Foundation

Dundalk asks for a base that is level with a slight slope to the back for drainage — a concrete pad or a wood deck.

Electrical

Final electrical hookups must be completed by a certified electrician to comply with local codes. Dundalk makes this a condition of warranty validation, not just good practice.

Shipping

How is the Dundalk Serenity MP delivered?

The Serenity MP ships by LTL freight on a crate, delivered to the curb or the end of the driveway. Deliveries are usually made with an 18-wheel truck, so check it can reach your street. The carrier books a delivery appointment and does not unload — offloading is the customer's job, usually with a forklift lifting from the end of the crate on fork extensions, or by renting a tilt-bed tow truck to collect it from the local terminal. At 96" long the crate is over Dundalk's 92" limit, so there will be no lift gate — plan the offload before the truck is booked.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. Do you have a showroom?
