How is the HUUM CLIFF installed?
The CLIFF 6, 9 and 10.5 kW stand on adjustable legs and are anchored to the floor with the supplied brackets, screwed down with screws of preferably at least 6 × 40 mm; HUUM's SGS listing requires the anchoring. With the HUUM Flange CS the heater can instead sit partly inside the bench, with at least 21.7" (550 mm) of it above the bench surface. HUUM strongly recommends a safety rail around the heater, such as the HUUM Rail C.
HUUM's CLIFF manual says the electrical connection must be made by a licensed electrician, with a circuit breaker that disconnects all poles fitted before the sauna control, a heat-resistant power cable (no PVC insulation) and a waterproof junction box no higher than 20" (50 cm) above the floor; the cable enters through the heater's bottom cover. Your electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code.
HUUM CLIFF safety distances
Keep at least these distances from the HUUM CLIFF to walls, benches and anything that can burn. The letters match the drawing.

| A |

| B |
15.35" (390 mm) |
29.5" (750 mm) |
40.5" (1,030 mm) |
-
A: minimum distance from the sides and front of the heater to walls or anything that can burn
-
B: minimum width between the walls on either side of the heater
- At least 47.3" (1,200 mm) from the top of the heater to the ceiling
- With a HUUM Reflect C hooked onto one side, HUUM says the heater's safety distance to flammable material on that side is halved
HUUM's CLIFF manual gives a minimum sauna room height of 86.6" (2,200 mm), with a regular ceiling height of 86.6–91", allows only one heater per room, and calls for a sauna door that opens outward.
Stacking and caring for the stones
Wash the stones, then stack them loosely between the heating elements of the CLIFF and close together on the outside so no element shows. Packed too tightly, the elements overheat, wear out sooner and heat the room more slowly; a sparsely filled heater is a fire hazard. Take care not to bend the elements. Every rib lifts off with the two prop blocks supplied, which makes stacking easier. HUUM recommends having a specialist lay the stones. Stones crumble with use, so HUUM suggests ceramic tile with dark grout under and around the heater.
