What makes HUUM heaters different?

It comes down to stunning design and superior steam. All HUUM electric heaters can reach a scorching 230°F, more than enough for any sauna veteran. The main differences are in their stone capacity, aesthetics, and mounting type. The simple rule is: the more stones a heater holds, the softer, more humid, and longer-lasting the steam will be when you add water. This massive thermal mass is what makes the HUUM experience so special.

What are the differences between the models?

Here’s a quick rundown of the main models to help you find your fit:

HUUM Drop: The only wall-mounted heater from HUUM (4.5kW to 9kW). It has the least stones since it's on the wall, making it a beautiful, space-saving choice for smaller saunas.

HUUM Cliff: A slim, freestanding heater (6kW to 9kW) with the smallest footprint of the floor models. It holds more stones than the Drop but does require the largest safety distance to combustibles.

HUUM Steel: The big brother to the Cliff, this 6kW to 10.5kW heater holds a massive 330lbs of stones (165lbs more than the Cliff) for a truly impressive steam.

HUUM Hive Mini: Similar to the Steel in power (6kW-10.5kW) and stone capacity, but with the iconic, rounded "Hive" aesthetic.

HUUM Hive: The largest and most powerful model (12kW to 18kW). It holds a staggering 528lbs of stones for an unparalleled sauna session in large spaces. You can even connect multiple Hives for very large commercial saunas.

HUUM Wood Stoves: For the traditionalists, the HUUM wood stoves, like the Hive Wood and the new high-efficiency Hive Flow, offer an authentic wood-fired experience with the same beautiful design.

How are they controlled?

All HUUM electric heaters are operated using a sleek UKU controller. The main choice is whether you want a WiFi-capable version, which lets you preheat your sauna from anywhere (like on your way home from work!).

All control panels are generally recommended to be installed outside the sauna room. However, a few models can also be mounted inside if the installation guidelines are followed correctly.

How do I choose the right size and model?

It's a simple process. First, decide between an electric heater or a wood-fired sauna stove. Next, calculate your sauna's total cubic footage. This is essential for picking the right power (kW). A quick note on power: All HUUM electric heaters are 240V. They can be wired for 208V, but this reduces the power output by about 25%, so be sure to factor that in when sizing your heater.
