Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the SaunaLife S1N package?
The SaunaLife S1N package is a 1-person plunge tub with the FDC-1A combination chiller/heater, in a Natural or Black finish. The tub arrives fully assembled, with its contoured dark grey fiberglass insert, round deluxe stairs, 3.94-inch foundation beams, a 1-inch drain and 3/4-inch NPT chiller connections. The FDC-1A comes with a 5-inch filter assembly and filters, main and secondary filter wrenches, an LED remote, the water hose lines, a secondary filter screen and its installation and operation manual, and it is run from its LCD touchscreen or a smartphone app. The insulated S1 cover is not included; Topture offers it as an add-on.
How cold and how hot does the SaunaLife S1N chiller/heater get?
The FDC-1A chiller/heater in the SaunaLife S1N package is adjustable from 32.5°F to 108°F, so the same tub works as a cold plunge or a warm soak. Its manual warns that the water can vary by plus or minus 5°F from the advertised temperature, and names the causes: very hot climates, sun exposure, a low amp rating or improper outlet, an unchanged or clogged filter, and the volume of water. It has 2.81 kW of cooling and 3.38 kW of heating capacity. The manual also advises consulting a qualified healthcare professional before using hot or cold immersion.
What electrical circuit does the SaunaLife S1N chiller need?
The FDC-1A chiller/heater in the SaunaLife S1N package runs on 110–120 volts at 60 Hz, and its manual's power table calls for a 15-amp circuit with 14 AWG wire. It plugs into a grounded NEMA 5-15 outlet through the GFCI power cord and plug supplied with it; the plug's TEST and RESET buttons check that it works and are not to be used as on/off switches. The manual requires a code-compliant circuit installed by a licensed electrician and following local codes. If an extension cord is unavoidable, it specifies a 14 AWG cord with a single plug end rather than a power strip.
How much water does the SaunaLife S1N hold?
The SaunaLife S1N holds 124 gallons, and SaunaLife lists it at 1,158 pounds filled, so the base under it has to carry that weight. The FDC-1A chiller/heater circulates the water through the supplied hoses, and its manual requires the water level in the tub to stay above the chiller's water inlet, with the chiller at the same level as the tub or slightly lower, so the pump can draw water. Connect the hoses before filling, check that both line valves are open, and fill the tub before switching the chiller on.
How big is the SaunaLife S1N, and how much space does it need?
The SaunaLife S1N tub is 40 inches in diameter and 41.3 inches high outside, with a 34.4-inch interior diameter and 36 inches of depth, for one bather. The FDC-1A chiller/heater beside it measures 21.3 by 15.4 by 25 inches, and its manual asks for at least 20 inches of clearance all around it and 60 inches of open space in front of its fan, so plan the pad for both. The tub weighs 143 pounds empty and the chiller 103 pounds.
What is the SaunaLife S1N made of?
The SaunaLife S1N has a 1.65-inch thermally modified wood surround, which SaunaLife says lasts up to twice as long as cedar and has superior thermal resistance, around a thick, contoured dark grey fiberglass insert, with matching wood stairs. SaunaLife's tub manual recommends treating the wooden walls and stairs with an exterior-grade wood oil at least once a year. The FDC-1A chiller/heater has a built-in ozone generator for disinfection.
How do you install the SaunaLife S1N?
The SaunaLife S1N arrives assembled: remove the plywood box, cut away the protective plastic and take the stairs out of the tub. SaunaLife's tub manual asks for a level, stable base at least 3 inches above the surrounding ground, and recommends concrete blocks or strips on compacted gravel, or an existing terrace or pavement that keeps the tub 3 inches up. Set the FDC-1A beside it at the same level, connect the chiller's INLET to the tub's OUT and its OUTLET to the tub's IN, hand-tight, and open both line valves. Keep the chiller upright and unplugged for 24 hours after delivery, and prime its pump with water before powering it.
Can the SaunaLife S1N go outdoors and in winter?
Yes, the SaunaLife S1N is designed as an outdoor tub, within its chiller's limits. The FDC-1A manual lists a usage environment of 59 to 109°F when cooling and 59 to 95°F when heating, says the GFCI cord and plug are for indoor use or light rain and should be kept covered, and asks for the touchscreen to be shaded from sun and rain. Unplug and cover the chiller in heavy rain, flooding or heat above 95°F in direct sun. In freezing weather the chiller manual says to move the chiller indoors or to a properly insulated area, and SaunaLife's tub manual says to drain the tub after use and leave the drain valve open so nothing freezes.
How is the SaunaLife S1N delivered and what does shipping cost?
The SaunaLife S1N package ships by LTL freight for a flat $695 freight charge to the contiguous United States, chiller included. Delivery is by appointment, and the driver makes a curbside delivery only, lowering the shipment to ground level. The tub arrives on a wooden pallet encased in wood, in a crate of 47.8 by 46 by 48.1 inches at 265 pounds, and the FDC-1A chiller is packed separately at 125 pounds. Every Topture freight order includes full-value freight protection, and damage must be documented at delivery for a claim to be processed.
What does the SaunaLife S1N cost in total, delivered?
The delivered cost of the SaunaLife S1N from Topture is the package price plus a flat $695 LTL freight charge to the contiguous United States, and the package already includes the FDC-1A chiller/heater. Some retailers advertise free shipping on the S1N package at a higher package price, so compare delivered totals rather than package prices. The insulated S1 cover is extra. Site work is arranged locally: a level base at least 3 inches above the ground, and a code-compliant 15-amp, 110–120-volt circuit with a grounded outlet for the chiller, installed by a licensed electrician. Topture quotes delivery outside the contiguous United States per order, and offers financing through Shop Pay Installments at checkout.
What warranty does the SaunaLife S1N have?
SaunaLife's Limited Warranty, Rev 260915, covers the SaunaLife S1N package for 2 years from delivery: it lists plunge tubs and water chillers at 2 years each, for residential use. It runs to the original retail purchaser who bought from an authorized reseller, and Topture is an authorized SaunaLife dealer. SaunaLife repairs or replaces, at its option, a part it judges defective, and labour for removal or reinstallation is not covered. It excludes normal wear, user damage, natural weathering and the natural characteristics of wood, and defects, transport damage included, that inspection before installation would have caught. Commercial use, alteration or repairs by anyone other than an authorized SaunaLife representative void it.
Where can you buy the SaunaLife S1N from an authorized dealer?
Topture is an authorized SaunaLife dealer, listed in SaunaLife's own dealer directory, and sells the SaunaLife S1N package, tub and FDC-1A chiller/heater together, in Natural or Black, with the insulated S1 cover as an optional add-on. Buying from an authorized dealer matters because SaunaLife's limited warranty applies only to products bought from one of its authorized resellers. Topture provides Lifetime Expert Support, including troubleshooting and warranty coordination with SaunaLife.
How do you keep the SaunaLife S1N water clean?
The FDC-1A chiller/heater in the SaunaLife S1N package disinfects the water with a built-in ozone generator and filters it as it circulates. Its manual says to check the cartridge and hairnet filters every 10 uses, replacing the main filter and emptying and cleaning the hairnet filter when they are dirty, and notes that the paper filter core should be replaced every 30 days. Every 6 months, add spa cleanser to the tub water, run the chiller for 2 hours, then drain and refill, never bathing with cleanser in the water. SaunaLife's tub manual adds showering before use and washing the tub with household detergent and a soft cloth, never chlorine cleaners, which discolor it.
What are common problems with the SaunaLife S1N?
Most problems the SaunaLife S1N's FDC-1A manual warns about come from setup. Running the chiller with either line valve closed restricts the flow and damages the pump, and the current manual says the pump must be primed with water before power is supplied. Starting it before it has stood upright for 24 hours, installing it higher than the tub so the water level sits below its inlet, or boxing it in without 20 inches of clearance and 60 inches in front of the fan also cause trouble, and the manual says damage from closed valves or overheating is not covered. Blow dust out of the fan every 6 months. An E68 code means insufficient water flow: check that the pump is running and clean or replace the blocked part.
What is the difference between the SaunaLife S1N and the S2NC?
The difference is size. The SaunaLife S1N is a one-person plunge: a 40-inch round tub, 41.3 inches high, holding 124 gallons, and SaunaLife lists it at 1,158 pounds filled. The S2NC takes two bathers in a tub 74.4 inches long and 46 inches wide, 41 inches high, holding 200 gallons, and SaunaLife lists it at 2,021 pounds filled. The chillers differ too. The S1N's FDC-1A reaches 32.5 to 108°F, but its manual lists a usage environment of 59 to 109°F when cooling; the S2NC's AP-1 ranges 37 to 107°F, lists 32 to 113°F, and has more cooling and heating capacity for the larger volume. Both run on a 15-amp, 110–120-volt circuit and share the same tub construction.

General Topture Questions

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

Topture is an online retailer serving customers in the contiguous United States. The company is Topture LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, and its registered business address is 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801.

Orders ship from manufacturer and distributor warehouses in the U.S. and Canada, and some products ship directly from the manufacturer in Europe. Each product page shows its estimated delivery time.

How much is shipping?

Orders over $200 ship free within the continental United States. Orders under $200 carry a small shipping fee.

Two exceptions: SaunaLife and ThermaSol products carry a freight charge at any order value, and sauna stones ordered without a heater ship at $60 per box because of their weight.

Every charge is shown at checkout before you pay.

Do you provide financing?

Absolutely! To view your financing offer, simply select Shop Pay Installments as your payment method at Step 3 of checkout.

You'll need to enter a debit card to receive your offer, but don’t worry—you can still back out before completing the purchase.

How long will it take for my items to arrive?

If your order is in stock, most orders ship within 2–7 business days of purchase. Transit time then depends on the distance from the warehouse and, for freight, on booking a delivery appointment.

For custom, pre-order or made-to-order items, the estimated delivery time frame is listed on the product page. Delivery dates are estimates, so please don't book installation labor until your order has arrived and been inspected.

What happens after I place my order?

As soon as you place your order, you'll receive a confirmation email with your order details—be sure to keep it for your records. Once your order ships, you'll receive another email with tracking information.

For freight deliveries, the carrier will call or text you to schedule an appointment once the shipment reaches their local terminal. Someone needs to be there to inspect the shipment and sign for it. Smaller parcels arrive by UPS or FedEx without an appointment.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Products purchased through Topture include the applicable manufacturer’s warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms. You’ll find the warranty details for each product under the "Warranty" tab on its product page, and we help with troubleshooting and warranty coordination if an issue comes up.

Do you have a showroom?

We don’t have a showroom — we sell online. Our team is available by phone, email and chat to help you compare models, sizes and heaters, and we can send dimensions, installation manuals and electrical requirements before you buy.

Where do you deliver to?

We deliver throughout the 48 contiguous states, with curbside freight delivery for large items. Free shipping and standard rates apply there only. Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other U.S. islands and Canada are quoted separately, depending on the brand and model. We can't ship freight or oversized items to P.O. boxes.

Do you ship internationally?

For many products, yes, including to Canada, by custom quote. Email contact@topture.com with the product and your address before you order; availability and cost depend on the brand and model. Any duties, taxes and customs fees are your responsibility.
