How do I figure out the dose that I need?
For skin-level sessions, the recommended sweet spot of dosing for a given area is roughly between 3 Joules and 10 Joules.
For deeper-penetrating sessions, the sweet spot for a given area is between 10J and 50J of light.
Generally speaking, our panels deliver at least 5J of light per minute of use from 6 inches away.
If you back up farther away to 12 inches or 18 inches, the amount of time needed in front of the panel may increase but you are also treating a larger area at once.
The formula for calculating Joules is:
J= (Irradiance At A Given Distance) x (Session Time in Seconds) x (.001)
What is the EMF output of your devices?
All electric devices have some degree of electromagnetic field, due to the nature of their power source. The EMF output of our devices comes in at 0.0 µT at 6" (which is our recommended minimum distance). This means that at 6" and beyond, you are receiving zero EMF exposure during a red light therapy session with our device.
Why do only half of the LEDs light up? Is my device broken?
The reason you only can see half of the LEDs illuminated is because the near infrared LEDs are outside of the visible spectrum of light for the human eye. So, you won't really be able to see the NIR lights when they're turned on. Most of our panels feature red and near infrared LEDs in a 1:1 ratio, meaning half of the LEDs are red and half are near infrared. You will not be able to see the near infrared, but rest assured they are on and working.
Can I use my red light therapy device in a sauna?
No, you should not operate your red light therapy device in a sauna. It is too hot for the components of the panel. We recommend either going in the sauna first, and then doing your red light therapy session or vice versa.
Will I get a tan from red light therapy?
No, there is no UVA or UVB light (the light that can burn your skin) emitted from our devices. You will NOT get a tan.
Can I wear makeup during a session?
Yes, you can. It won't hurt anything, however, red and near infrared light therapy works best on clean, bare skin.
Why does the light seem to change color as my session goes on?
This is just your eyes adjusting. You'll notice that when you first turn the lights on they appear very bright red, but as your session goes on, your eyes adjust and the light will not appear quite as red. Do not worry. The LEDs are only capable of emitting red at 660 nanometers and near infrared at 850 nanometers.
Which red light device should I choose?
The device that's right for you really depends on your budget and how large of an area you're looking to treat at one time. Truth be told, you can treat everything you need to with our smallest panel, the HG300. With that being said, if you wanted to be more efficient and treat a larger area of your body in the same amount of time, you may stand to benefit from choosing a larger panels.
Also, if you think that in the future you may want to add multiple panels together to create one larger set up, you may be interested in the HGPRO series as it is modular and mobile stand compatible.
What precautions should I follow when using my device?
Follow the instructions in your user manual, including the recommended distance and session times, and wear the included eye protection goggles when using the panel on your face. If you have a medical condition, consult your doctor before use.
Why are your device so affordable relative to competitors?
We believe anyone should have access to red and near infrared light therapy. We don't spend exorbitant amounts of money on advertising or celebrity endorsements. Instead, we keep our costs low and pass the savings along to our customers. We also eliminate unnecessary features that artificially drive up cost on the panels.
How do I use my device?
Easy! Just plug it in, turn both switches on, and let the red and near infrared light wavelengths shine on your body for somewhere between 2 and 15 minutes, depending on distance from the panel and your specific goals!
Do I need to wear eye protection?
We do recommend wearing eye protection when treating your face, although it may not be necessary. Our devices come with included eye protection goggles.
What is the difference between the HG and HGPRO series?
Our HGPRO series panels are mobile stand compatible and modular. This means they can be added together and attached to our mobile stand with included mounting brackets to create a custom red light therapy set up. Our HGPRO series also features dual chip LEDs which are able to deliver more power than the single chip LEDs in the HG series. HGPRO series is also flicker-free.
You can't go wrong with either series. The HG series is a great entry point to red light therapy, but it just can't be attached to a mobile stand or added to other panels to create a larger set up. The HG series, although less powerful than the HGPRO, is still an extremely powerful device that delivers high irradiance levels.

What's the difference between red and near-infrared light?
Both red and near infrared light are natural wavelengths of light which come from the sun.
The main difference is that red light at 660nm only penetrates the body up to a depth of about 5-10mm. Near infrared light at 850nm is invisible to the human eye and penetrates deeper into the body, between 50mm and 75mm.
We recommend doing sessions with both switches turned on, as our irradiance measurements are based upon both wavelengths of light, not just one being turned on,
How often can I use my device?
You can use your red light therapy device daily. You can even do multiple sessions per day if you'd like.
