What is the Harvia Xenio CX30C Combi control?
The Harvia Xenio CX30C is the Wi-Fi control for Harvia's Virta Combi heaters, which have a steamer built in: it runs the heater and the steamer independently and regulates humidity as well as temperature. Topture sells it for 240 V single-phase (CX30C-U1-XW) and 208 V three-phase (CX30C-U3-XW) power. The kit has a control panel, a power unit, a temperature sensor and a humidity sensor. Its temperature can be set from 104 to 194°F (40–90°C) and its humidity from 20 to 80%; it runs the heater for up to 1 hour per start and can delay a start by up to 12 hours, and it has Wi-Fi for Harvia's MyHarvia app.
Which heaters does the Harvia Xenio CX30C work with?
The Harvia Xenio CX30C runs Harvia's Virta Combi heaters: the CX30C-U1-XW runs the Virta Combi 8 kW, 9 kW and 10.5 kW on 240 V single-phase, and the CX30C-U3-XW runs the Virta Combi 10.5 kW on 208 V three-phase. It is rated for 12.7 kW on two supply circuits at 240 V, or 10.8 kW at 208 V three-phase, plus a steamer of up to 2.1 kW; that covers every Virta Combi, so none needs a power extension. A plain Harvia Xenio CX30 or CX45 cannot run the steamer.
In combi mode, Harvia limits the temperature in °C plus the relative humidity in % to 140 at most: for example, 60°C (140°F) with 80% humidity.
Where does each part of the Xenio CX30C go?
The Xenio CX30C's power unit goes on a wall outside the sauna room, in a dry place above 32°F (0°C); it must not be recessed into the wall. The control panel can go in a dressing room, washroom or living area, or inside the sauna room at least 1.5 ft (50 cm) from the heater and no higher than about 3.3 ft (1 m) above the floor. The temperature sensor goes on the sauna wall above the heater and the humidity sensor elsewhere in the sauna room, as the manual shows. Harvia's manual says only an authorized, professional electrician may make the electrical connections. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the manual that ships with the heater and your local code. Harvia's installation manual, under Documents, gives the exact wiring and sensor positions.
