What is the Harvia M3 kit with chimney and stones?
The Harvia M3 kit with chimney and stones combines three parts: the Harvia M3 (WKM3) 16.5 kW wood-burning sauna stove, Harvia's WHP1500 stainless-steel chimney kit and two 44 lb boxes of Harvia AC3020 4–6" stones. It is for sauna rooms of 212 to 459 cu ft. The kit price is the sum of the three parts; ordering them together means the chimney and the stones are already matched to the stove.
The M3 stands on the floor, has a black-painted steel body with a chrome front plate, a glass door and an ash box, and holds up to 66 lb (30 kg) of stones. The kit's chimney joins its 4.5" (115 mm) top opening. It burns firewood and needs no electrical connection.

The M3 kit with chimney, sheath, floor protection and stones adds Harvia's WL450 sheath and WL100 floor bedding, and the black M3 kit with chimney extension has a black chimney with an extension plus the sheath and bedding. Harvia AC3020 stones
- Two 44 lb (20 kg) boxes, 88 lb in total, of Harvia AC3020 split-face olivine diabase stones, 4–6" (10–15 cm). The M3 holds up to 66 lb (30 kg), so some stones are left over
What you still need
- On a tile or combustible floor: Harvia protective bedding such as the Harvia WL100 protective bedding (Protective Bedding SM) (sold separately), plus non-combustible protection in front of the door on a combustible floor
- On a flat roof: the WHM24 rain flange, sold separately; the kit's rain flange suits roofs pitched 10° or more
- Installation of the chimney through the ceiling and roof, following Harvia's instructions and local regulations
- Optional: the Harvia WL450 protective sheath, which cuts the M3's side and rear distances to 2"

How is the Harvia M3 kit with chimney and stones installed?
The Harvia M3 kit with chimney and stones goes in as two jobs. The M3 stands on the floor on its fixed legs, inside the safety distances below; the chimney's smoke pipe joins the stove's 4.5" (115 mm) top opening, and the insulated chimney passes through the ceiling with the included lead-through insulation and flange and out through the roof under the rain flange. Keep the insulated chimney at least 3.94" (100 mm) and the uninsulated smoke pipe at least 19.7" (500 mm) from anything that can burn, and leave at least 16.9" (430 mm) of insulated chimney visible below the ceiling. Harvia's manuals say local regulations apply and the stove cannot share a flue; they give the step-by-step installation, under Documents.
Does the Harvia M3 kit with chimney and stones need floor protection?
It depends on the floor under the M3. A bare concrete floor at least 2.4" (60 mm) thick needs no protection. A tile floor needs Harvia protective bedding, because the adhesives and waterproofing under tile do not resist the stove's heat. A floor made of combustible material needs the bedding too, plus non-combustible protection in front of the stove door. This kit does not include bedding; the Harvia WL100 protective bedding (Protective Bedding SM) is sold separately, and the M3 kit with chimney, sheath, floor protection and stones includes it.

The Harvia WL450 protective sheath, sold separately, cuts the side and rear distances to 2.0" (50 mm).
Does the Harvia M3 need a first firing?
Yes, outdoors. Harvia's manual says to fire the M3 once outside before its first sauna, until the paint on the stove stops smoking, and to load the stones only after it has cooled.
