Commercial infrared saunas compared: seats, footprint, power and price

Choose among the saunas here by how many people will use one at once, then by the heat you want:

• One person at a time: the FD-1, rated by Finnmark for one person.
• Two people at a time: the FD-2 for infrared heat alone, or the FD-4 Trinity for infrared plus a Harvia heater with stones; Finnmark rates both for two.
• Three or four people at a time: the FD-3 for infrared heat alone, or the FD-5 Trinity XL for infrared plus a Harvia heater with stones; Finnmark rates both for three to four.

Commercial infrared sauna checklist: power, space and installation

• Power: Finnmark lists the FD-1, FD-2 and FD-4 Trinity at 120 V and the FD-3 at 240 V, and Bathing Brands lists the FD-5 Trinity XL's Harvia heater at 240 V single-phase, with 208 V three-phase also available. On the FD-1, FD-2 and FD-3, and on the FD-4's infrared side, Finnmark's manuals call for a circuit dedicated to the sauna, with no other devices sharing it. For the Harvia heater in each Trinity, Finnmark specifies no circuit, and its manuals say to give the Harvia installation manual to a licensed electrician. Ask Topture about the FD-5 Trinity XL's infrared supply before planning the wiring. Your licensed electrician sizes the breaker and wire from the sauna's manual, the Harvia heater's manual for a Trinity model, and your local code.
• Space: each FD sauna stands on its own; Finnmark's manuals describe it as self-contained and freestanding and say not to build it into any structure. Underneath it they ask for a solid surface in a dry area, and around it a gap of at least 3 inches above the sauna and on every side, so the main power cord stays within reach. Finnmark intends these saunas for indoor use. Placed outdoors, an FD sauna needs Finnmark's outdoor cover, an awning or overhang above it and sturdy, dry, level ground beneath, and the manuals say that leaving the cover off voids the warranty.
• Installation: Finnmark's manuals show each FD sauna arriving as prefabricated panels, bench parts, adjustable feet, a power supply and a parts box that are screwed together on site, and they state "Professional installation required" and call for at least two physically able people to install it.

Commercial infrared sauna prices, delivery and warranty

Prices in this collection start at $4,695 for the FD-1 and reach $8,995 for the FD-5 Trinity XL. None of the five has a heater package to choose, and each Trinity's price covers its Harvia heater and the Harvia AC3000 sauna stones that Bathing Brands, Finnmark's distributor, includes with it.

All five saunas in this collection ship with freight included to addresses in the contiguous United States. Bathing Brands ships each one on a wooden pallet, and the freight carrier brings it to the curb at a booked delivery appointment, where an adult signs the Bill of Lading.
