Why Buy a Package Instead of Just the Heater?

A Harvia heater alone is about 60% of what you actually need to run a sauna. You still have to buy stones, a controller, and in most cases a WiFi module separately — and getting the right combinations right takes some research. The bundled packages handle that work.

Every package in this collection includes:

  • The heater itself
  • An external digital controller (Xenio CX170, CX30, CX45, or CX30C depending on heater)
  • The Harvia Xenio WiFi remote module
  • Harvia Olivine Diabase sauna stones in the right quantity

You save 10–20% versus buying each piece individually, and you end up with a compatible set — Harvia controllers only work with Harvia heaters, and the combi models (Virta Combi) need a specific controller that supports the built-in steamer. Skipping the package to save money often means paying for a returned wrong-controller later.

The Harvia Series Explained

KIP Series (4.5kW / 6kW / 8kW) — The entry-level wall-mounted electric. Simple cage design, 50 lbs stone capacity, built-in or external controller versions. KIP covers rooms from 100–425 cu ft. This is the heater most installers recommend for indoor 2–4 person home saunas where budget matters more than stone mass.

Virta Series (6kW / 8kW / 9kW / 10.5kW) — Harvia's premium wall-mounted line. 150 lbs stone capacity — triple the KIP. Stainless construction, cleaner heat delivery, a visible step up in build quality. The Virta 9kW and 10.5kW are our most-recommended Harvia models for 4–6 person outdoor saunas. See the full 9kW heater comparison if you're sizing this range.

Virta Combi (8kW / 9kW / 10.5kW) — The Virta with a built-in water reservoir for steam generation. Pour water on stones for traditional löyly, or run the steamer for a steam-room experience on the same unit. Requires the CX30C controller (included in the packages). Good for buyers who want both dry Finnish sauna and humid steam sessions without building two rooms.

Cilindro Half Series (6kW / 8kW / 9kW / 10.5kW) — The column-shape stainless heater. 200 lbs stone capacity — HUUM-level thermal mass in a cylindrical tower form. Mounts against a wall, half-cylinder shape. Combination of heavy stone load and compact footprint makes it a solid pick for mid-size rooms where wall space is tight.

Club Series (10kW / 12.5kW / 15kW) — Harvia's commercial-size floor-standing heater. For large saunas, commercial installations, or oversized residential builds. 60+ lbs stone capacity per heater, usually installed with the Xenio CX45 controller package.

Controllers and WiFi

Harvia's Xenio line is the controller family used across all these packages:

  • CX170 — Entry digital controller. Timer, temperature, display. Pairs with KIP, Virta, Cilindro, Club.
  • CX30 / CX45 — Step-up controllers for larger heaters with advanced scheduling. CX45 handles Club series and higher-amp Virta models.
  • CX30C — The combi controller. Required for Virta Combi heaters because it controls the steamer separately from the dry heat.
  • Xenio WiFi Module — Plugs into any Xenio controller, adds phone app control via MyHarvia. Included in every package here.

If you'd rather skip app control and keep the sauna analog, we also stock KIP-B models with a simple built-in dial — no external controller, no WiFi, just a knob. Those aren't in this packages collection because they don't need bundling.

How to Size a Harvia Package

Same rule as any sauna heater: roughly 1kW per 50 cubic feet of interior. Quick picks from the Harvia lineup:

  • 100–200 cu ft (1–2 person indoor): KIP 4.5kW Package
  • 200–350 cu ft (2–3 person indoor): KIP 6kW or Virta 6kW Package
  • 250–425 cu ft (3–4 person indoor or small outdoor): KIP 8kW, Virta 8kW, or Cilindro 8kW Package
  • 350–500 cu ft (4–5 person outdoor): Virta 9kW, Cilindro 9kW, or Virta Combi 9kW Package — also see 10.5kW options if the room is at the upper end
  • 500–700 cu ft (5–6 person outdoor): Virta 10.5kW or Cilindro 10.5kW Package
  • 700+ cu ft (commercial or oversized): Club 10kW / 12kW Package

Stones in the Package

Every package includes Harvia's Olivine Diabase stones — a split-face volcanic rock that holds heat exceptionally well and doesn't crack under thermal stress the way cheap landscape rocks do. Stone size varies by heater: 2–4" stones (AC3000) for the KIP, Virta, and most models; 4–6" stones (AC3020) for larger cylindrical heaters like the Cilindro and Club. Quantity is pre-calculated to fill the specific heater's basket to spec. Additional boxes available via our sauna rock collection if you need replacements.

Wiring and Install

Every heater in this collection is 240V single-phase for residential use, with the commercial Club 12kW+ needing 208V three-phase. Amperage by size: 4.5kW needs ~19A, 6kW needs ~25A, 8kW needs ~33A, 9kW needs ~38A, 10.5kW needs ~44A. Wire it wrong and you'll trip breakers or fry the element. Read our electrical requirements walkthrough before the electrician shows up.

Combi (steamer) models have an additional consideration: the water reservoir needs a drain line and a clean water fill. Not complicated, but it's a step most new buyers don't anticipate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's included in a Harvia heater package?
Each package includes the heater, an external Xenio digital controller (CX170, CX30, CX45, or CX30C), the Xenio WiFi remote module, and Harvia Olivine Diabase stones pre-measured for the basket. Saves 10–20% vs. buying components individually and guarantees a compatible set — Harvia controllers only pair with Harvia heaters.
What's the difference between KIP, Virta, Cilindro, and Club?
KIP is entry-level wall-mount, ~50 lbs stones. Virta is premium wall-mount, ~150 lbs stones, stainless construction. Virta Combi adds a built-in steamer for dry/steam combo sessions. Cilindro Half is a column wall-mount with ~200 lbs stone capacity. Club is floor-standing commercial (10kW–15kW) for large or high-usage spaces.
Which Harvia package is right for my sauna?
Indoor 2–3 person (200–350 cu ft): KIP 6kW or Virta 6kW. 3–4 person (250–425 cu ft): KIP 8kW or Virta 8kW. Outdoor 4–5 person (350–500 cu ft): Virta 9kW, Cilindro 9kW, or Virta Combi 9kW. Outdoor 5–6 person (500–700): Virta 10.5kW or Cilindro 10.5kW. Commercial (700+): Club 10kW–15kW. Size up 1kW for glass walls or cold climates.
What's the Harvia Virta Combi and how is it different?
The Virta Combi is a Virta heater with a built-in water reservoir and steam generator. Run it as a dry sauna and pour water on the stones, or activate the steamer for a humid steam-room session — no second room needed. Combi packages include the CX30C controller that manages steamer separately from dry heat. Available in 8kW, 9kW, 10.5kW.
Does the WiFi module let me control the sauna from my phone?
Yes — the Xenio WiFi module plugs into the Xenio controller and pairs with the MyHarvia app. Turn on the heater, set temperature, adjust timer, schedule recurring sessions from anywhere. WiFi module included in every package here. Remote start may require a door-open sensor per local code.
What voltage do Harvia heaters require?
Residential Harvia heaters run on 240V single-phase. Club series and some 10.5kW commercial configs also come in 208V three-phase. Amperage: 4.5kW ~19A, 6kW ~25A, 8kW ~33A, 9kW ~38A, 10.5kW ~44A. Dedicated circuit, licensed electrician required.
Are Harvia stones included in the package?
Yes — Harvia Olivine Diabase split-face stones pre-measured to fill the heater's basket. Smaller heaters use 2–4" stones (AC3000). Larger cylindrical heaters use 4–6" stones (AC3020). Olivine diabase resists thermal cracking that destroys cheap landscape rocks.
What's the warranty on Harvia heater packages?
2-year manufacturer warranty on heater, elements, and controller for residential use. Commercial installations typically 1 year. Warranty valid only through authorized dealers — Topture is authorized. Doesn't cover damage from improper wiring, undersized installs, or water-damaged controllers.
How is Harvia different from HUUM?
Harvia is the reliability workhorse — founded 1950, installed in more home saunas worldwide than any brand, known for proven longevity and lower replacement-part costs. Stone capacity is lower than HUUM. Harvia wins on reliability; HUUM wins on aesthetics, stone mass, and steam quality.
