You know that feeling when your shoulders are cooking but your feet are still cold? That's heat stratification, and it's the dirty secret of conventional sauna heaters. Hot air rises, so the band of air at the ceiling can sit dramatically warmer than the air down by the lower bench. You're technically in a hot room, but the heat isn't where your body is.
Saunum, an Estonian brand, built its heaters around fixing exactly that. Every package here includes a patented climate equalizer that actively circulates the air inside the sauna, pulling the warmth down and spreading the heat — and the steam — evenly from floor to ceiling. The result is heat that wraps around you instead of pooling above your head. If you've sat in a sauna and wondered why the experience didn't match the thermometer, this is the fix.
This collection is the bundled, ready-to-run version of Saunum's heaters. For the standalone heaters, equalizers, controls, and accessories, see the full Saunum brand collection.
We carry two Complete Packages here, both built on the Air-series chassis with the climate equalizer integrated. Both top out at 212°F, both ship with WiFi control, and both carry Saunum's signature extras: a built-in aromatherapy dispenser and a Himalayan salt dispenser on the same unit.
The Saunum Air package ($4,465) is the smaller of the two, configurable at 4.8kW or 6.4kW with a 99 lb stone capacity — sized for compact-to-mid home saunas. The Saunum Air L package ($5,630) scales up, available at 9.8kW, 13kW, and 15.2kW with a 256 lb stone load for larger rooms, and it adds pour-water-on-rocks steam on top of the equalizer.
The equalizer is the headline, but the dispensers are what make a Saunum session distinctive. The aromatherapy dispenser lets you add essential-oil scent into the circulating air rather than dripping it onto hot stones, and the Himalayan salt dispenser adds salt-air to the mix. Because the equalizer is moving air through the whole cabin, the aroma and steam distribute the same way the heat does — evenly, not in a cloud over the stones.
Both packages are externally controlled with WiFi, so you set temperature, run a timer, and start the heater from your phone before you head out to the sauna. If you want the equalizer effect in a sauna you've already built around a different heater, Saunum also makes standalone AirSolo equalizers — see the brand collection for those.
Be honest about what bugs you in a sauna. If you've sat in plenty of them and never thought twice about the heat profile, a conventional heater will serve you fine and cost less. Saunum is for the person who's noticed the problem — the one whose feet stay cool while their face is roasting, or who's wondered why the lower bench feels like a different room than the upper one.
It also tends to land with buyers who care about the whole sensory session, not just the temperature: the aroma in the air, the steam, the feeling of being wrapped in even heat rather than baked from above. The built-in dispensers and the equalizer working together are what deliver that. If a sauna is a daily ritual for you and the details matter, the Saunum bet pays off; if you just want a hot box on a timer, you can spend less elsewhere.
The same one-kilowatt-per-50-cubic-feet rule applies: measure your room's interior in feet, multiply, divide by 50, and round up for glass or cold climates. The Air's 4.8kW/6.4kW range suits compact-to-mid rooms; the Air L's 9.8kW to 15.2kW range covers larger and light-commercial spaces.
Where Saunum differs from the Finnish brands is purpose. Harvia packages win on fast heat-up and the widest parts network; HUUM packages win on raw stone mass and a 230°F ceiling. Saunum's bet is on evenness — making the heat you already have feel better distributed rather than just hotter. If even löyly top-to-bottom is what you care about most, it's the one to look at. You can line all three up on our heater package hub.
Both Saunum packages are externally controlled electric heaters that need a dedicated 240V circuit on their own breaker, sized to the wattage you choose — the 15.2kW Air L sits at the upper end and may call for a heavier circuit than the smaller Air. A licensed electrician must confirm the breaker, wire gauge, and panel capacity for your specific home before install; don't size the circuit off a generic chart. Our electrical requirements guide covers what to bring to that conversation.
The package covers the heater, equalizer, stones, dispensers, and controller. You provide the enclosed sauna room, the circuit, and proper clearances per the spec sheet. These ship curbside freight, fully insured. Unsure whether the Air or Air L fits your room? Call us and we'll size it with you.
