Every Ariel Platinum steam shower ships with a built-in 6KW steam generator, a touchscreen control panel, chromotherapy LED lighting, an aromatherapy system, and either a single or dual rainfall showerhead depending on the model. You're not sourcing a separate generator, controller, or plumbing kit.
It's all integrated behind the glass.
The enclosures are built on tempered safety glass with satin nickel fixtures and hardwood ceiling and floor panels. They're ETL-certified for US and Canadian electrical safety, and every unit is freestanding. That means it doesn't attach to your bathroom wall, which makes installation more straightforward than a custom tile shower and lets you move or replace the unit down the line.
Your bathroom's shape is the first filter. Ariel Platinum makes both rectangular steam shower units designed to fit a standard bathtub alcove and corner configurations that save floor space in tighter layouts. The DZ972F8 is built for a standard 60×32 bathtub space, making it the go-to for renovations where you're swapping out an existing tub. Most rectangular models can reuse your existing plumbing rough-in without moving drain or supply lines.
Some Ariel Platinum steam showers ship with 6 acupressure body jets, others pack 20. You'll find single rainfall showerheads on the more compact units and dual rainfall setups on the larger ones. The DZ959F8 is a solid mid-range option with 6 body jets and a compact footprint, while the DZ972F8 goes all-in with 20 jets and dual rainfall heads.
Several models come in left-hand and right-hand layouts, including the DZ961F8 and the DZ959F8. This determines which side the plumbing fixtures and door handle sit on. Measure your bathroom and decide which orientation keeps the door swing clear before placing your order.
These units are self-contained and freestanding, which simplifies the process compared to a full custom build. Assembly typically takes 6–8 hours, and the enclosure fits through any standard doorway 24 inches or wider. You won't need to demo tile or build a shower pan.
That said, you'll need two licensed professionals: a plumber and an electrician. The plumbing side is straightforward — half-inch hot and cold supply lines plus a drain connection. The electrical side requires a dedicated 240V circuit, which most bathrooms don't have by default. Budget for the electrician as a separate cost from the shower itself. Each product page lists the exact amperage and wiring specs your electrician will need.
Delivery is curbside via freight carrier. The shipping company will call to schedule a delivery window, and someone needs to be home to inspect the packaging for visible damage before signing. Getting the unit into the bathroom and assembled is on you, but the freestanding design means no permanent modifications to your walls or floor.
Topture carries two steam shower brands: Ariel Platinum and Mesa. Ariel Platinum leans toward sleek, glass-forward designs with satin nickel finishes and touchscreen controls. Mesa offers a wider variety of shapes and sizes, including steam shower tub combos that pair a full soaking tub with a steam enclosure. Both are ETL-certified and ship with built-in steam generators, so you're getting the same core technology in different packages. If you want a tub-shower combination or a layout Mesa covers that Ariel doesn't, start there. If you want the cleanest modern look with the most integrated controls, Ariel Platinum is the line.
Not sure which direction to go? Our full steam shower collection shows both brands side by side. You can also filter by walk-in steam shower enclosures or compact two-person steam showers to narrow things down.
