Description

The Baltic Cold Plunge therapy tub is made in Canada from Eastern White Cedar to match the Dundalk saunas and is shipped assembled and ready to use. The tub has a durable plastic HDPE liner with molded-in bench and stainless steel bands on the outside. Add water and ice or simplify life and keep it at the precise temperature you desire with our optional electric chiller unit that also filters the water. The chiller can reach into the low 40F’s, even down into high 30F’s with the right conditions. The solid cedar cover and steps are great add-ons.

Why Use a Chiller Instead of Ice?

Whether you're just starting cold therapy or have been doing it for years, you’re likely in it for the health benefits — not the hassle of hauling bags of ice. Keeping a tub cold with ice is time-consuming, expensive, and inconsistent. The Coldture Chiller eliminates all of that. It keeps your water cold automatically, helping you build a more consistent routine and get the most out of your cold therapy practice.

Performance

This unit can chill water into the low 40°F range and, under the right conditions, even into the high 30s. The biggest factors affecting performance are ambient air temperature and sun exposure — not your body heat. If you're running a 100-gallon setup, even in full sun, expect water temps in the low to mid-40s with proper insulation and shade. Use indoors or outdoors, but avoid freezing environments.

Operating Costs

At around $0.12 per kWh, expect to pay between $18–$28 per month to operate the chiller. Only the pump runs continuously; the compressor and fan kick on only when cooling is needed.

Should You Use a Timer?

A common question we get is whether to run the chiller on a timer. Our recommendation: keep it running. Here's why:

Cold water slows bacterial growth, keeping the tub cleaner for longer and reducing the need for frequent water changes or high sanitizer doses.
Power savings are minimal. Turning it off might save you $3–$5 per month, but you’ll likely spend more on maintenance.
Startup stress wears down the pump. Most pump failures happen at startup. Frequent cycling increases wear and tear and shortens the lifespan of your unit.

Installation Note

The built-in pump is not self-priming. Your system must be gravity-fed:

Place the chiller within 3 feet of the tub drain
The bottom of the chiller must be level with or below the bottom of the tub
Avoid long tubing runs from the tub drain to the chiller inlet, as this can reduce water flow and damage the pump

True North 5 Person Sauna

I purchased this Sauna in White Cedar with 2 Windows and the Harvia Electric Heater and absolutely love it! It was easy to assemble in a few hours and is very high quality. I got the manual dial and it heats up quickly and provides up to 80% humidity when putting water on the rocks. The instructions were excellent and no extra help was required. It was shipped to me in the US and although it took awhile to receive because of a manufacturing issue, Topture kept on top of the situation and kept me in the loop from start to finish.
